Fighters come from Fighter Generators and are created inside your hull as Fighter Prefabs. These remote controlled ships are built on the fly inside your ship over time. They wait to be sent hurtling through the Fighter Bay on your ship out into space. Due to advanced manufacturing systems, all that is required to create these dronelike starships is energy, but it is quite a lot of power to materialize matter from nothing. Be warned, fighters use up energy both to be assembled and to be launched. The price is well worth it, though.
