Objectives | |||||||
Report to Lyceum Research Concourse after reaching level 250.
Mission Text | |||||||
"As you know, our exploratory campaign into Subspace ended in a rather horrid manner. We lost all the sectors captured and were pushed back to our defense hub -- beaten, battered and bruised." Earthforce Command Officer Evans looks at you earnestly. "Frankly, we over-estimated them."
"However, we won't make the same mistake twice. Defeating these aliens will require tactics and knowledge we don't currently possess. This is why Earthforce has turned to the Lyceum for help. With their brilliant minds researching the aliens, it's only a matter of time before they find a weakness -- something we can exploit!" "But enough exposition. Simon, you no doubt wonder why you've been called. The Lyceum have put in a request for pilots to help them with their research -- you served in Subspace for our exploratory campaign. I think it's a good fit, don't you?" asks Earthforce Command Officer Evans. "Good. Report to Pytheas 3000 in Lyceum Research Concourse. You'll be taking all your assignments from him."
Completion Text | |||||||
"Simon?" asks Pytheas 3000 in a tinny mechanical voice. "You served in the exploratory campaign correct? I specifically asked Earthforce Command Officer Evans to only send Subspace Veterans. You did? Good!"
Pytheas 3000 does his best approximation of a smile. "Let's get started then!" |

"In order to better fight our enemies in Subspace, Command has issued a contract to the Blue Photon Corporation" begins Earthforce Command Officer Evans. "They'll be designing and producing specialized weaponry and armor for our ships. I know you are thinking, 'but Evans, what does that have to do with me?'"
He continues. "Blue Photon has put in a request for Earthforce personnel to assist their research scientists in Subspace. It's a dangerous place and they can't have researchers traipsing around out there collecting samples -- that'd be your job for this assignment! Report to Archimbald Muenster, B.P.M.R.S for further instruction. Good luck!"

Archimbald Muenster, B.P.M.R.S is a short, balding man of Germanic descent. He introduces himself. "I am called Archimbald Muenster. Ja, ja. I know I am named after ein Kaese. Laugh now for we have much verk ahead of us!"

"Hardly surprised to see me again?" asks Earthforce Command Officer Evans. "With all your experience in Subspace -- naturally I'm going to call on you again."
"This next assignment is one of the utmost importance. You see, Earthforce has organized a special task force with the express purpose of testing new tactics and tech on the Aveksaka. It's known as Strike Force Zeta. It contains only the best of the best -- and you've been asked personally to be a part of it. Recall Warden Jefferies?" asks Earthforce Command Officer Evans. "She's gotten a well deserved promotion since you saw her last and she's the commander of Strike Force Zeta." "Simon, are you ready to go back into Subspace to protect your planet?"
Completion Text | |||||||
"Simon, you were a vital part in the evacuation of Front Line Outpost and you helped rescue the survivors of the E.F.V. Sovereign," says Warden Jefferies. "That's even before you add in all the hours you logged in Subspace with the Lyceum and Blue Photon Cooperation. You're one of the most seasoned pilots we have and I'm going to need you for the upcoming campaign -- we have a tough fight ahead of us."

Objectives | |||||||
Speak with Blue Pirate Wallace.
Mission Text | |||||||
"Simon, before you accept this assignment, I should let you know this is a joint operation. It's us and any pirates who show up -- and they have a good reason to. Earthforce has offered a full pardon to any of these criminals who sign up for a tour."
Warden Greene grabs your shoulder and looks you in the eyes. "I would fully understand if you don't want to work with these scumbags. Some of the stuff some of 'em have done is pretty bad -- but we need all the help we can get out here. I'm askin' that you keep an open mind, mull it over, meet up with the pirate leader. If you show up for briefing, you're doing Earthforce a favor and if you don't? Well I understand." "Blue Pirate Wallace has his own quarters here on E.F.V. Horizon. Talk to him, it might make you feel a little better about our new 'allies'."
Completion Text | |||||||
"Hey there Simon! Warden Greene said you'd be coming to see me." Blue Pirate Wallace grabs your hand and shakes it. "I'm Blue Pirate Wallace and I'm the liaison for all the pira -- non-Earthforce personnel here aboard the E.F.V. Horizon." He motions you towards a chair in the room and sits across from you.
"I know, it seems really unlikely that pirate -- ahem, non-Earthforce personnel could be here working with Earthforce. But you have to understand. These aliens, this threat, it's bigger than all of us. If we don't work together and do something about it, we're all sunk. For now anyway, Earthforce needs all of us." "If you're gonna stay, Warden Greene is holding a briefing in the operations room here aboard the Horizon. If you're not ... whatever." |

Speak with Warden Greene on the E.F.V. Horizon.
Objectives | |||||||
Speak with Warden Greene.
Mission Text | |||||||
"Earthforce is in a pickle right now. Enlistment is down and a lot of ships are allocated to the borders to stop pirates from terrorizing the colonists. You can see why they hit upon this plan, it is absolutely genius! Pirate activity decreases on the borders, more ships show up here to help with the aliens. It's kind of a feedback loop. Whatever, who cares, it's a good plan."
"Anyway, here is the deal. If you enlist for a tour in subspace, Earthforce will pardon all your past offenses -- and this is a really good deal for you. I've seen your file; you have one heck of a record makes me jealous. Being out here, it's not the safest gig -- these aliens are dangerous, but it'll give you some breathing room for a while when you get back home. So? Whaddya say?"
Completion Text | |||||||
"Talked to Blue Pirate Wallace did you? And you're still here? Well, no sense waiting time then, Simon."
"By Earthforce Executive Order SADOW X7908, as handed down by the Sky Marshall, Simon you are enlisted in Earthforce Expeditionary Force holding the temporary rank of Enforcer until such time it is seen fit to discharge you. Upon discharge and pending successful completion of all requirements, all previous transgressions against Earthforce or affiliated factions will be forgiven." "Enforcer Simon. Welcome to Earthforce." |

Elimiate 3 Sutagurukalaghu AI in LACS S1597 and return to E.F.V. Horizon.
Mission Text | |||||||
You enter a large meeting room in the E.F.V. Horizon. It has amphitheatre seating around a holographic display and what few empty seats remain are quickly filling up with fellow pilots. Warden Greene stands in the center of the room and addresses you.
"Command says it's time we sent our first strike force into subspace, that we need to show these aliens just who they are dealing with. And I agree, we're Earthforce, dammit!" Warden Greene slams his fist into the display console. "That's why I'm charging each and every one of you pilots, Earthforce, Pirate or otherwise, to head out there and not return until you've got a few kills under your belt. These are organics and Earthforce have provided you with training and weaponry -- so I better hear this was the easiest damn mission of your whole damn lives when you get back. Now move out!" |

3 Sutagurukalaghus will ambush you after getting close to the derelict ships. Make sure to equip your Earthforce Shipscanner. Note that it is also possible to complete this mission by scanning the same ship 3 times in a row. The mission reward is a tech 7 radar with niche stats(+5% RoF, +15% tracking).

Summary | |||||||
A scanner has been placed into your ship. Equip the scanner and locate and scan 3 ships in the lost squadron. Look for the squadron in LACS S1864, which is off LACS S1597. Report back to Warden Greene in Earthforce Defense Hub when you are finished.
Objectives | |||||||
Scan the derelict ships in LACS S1864 with your shipscanner. Return to E.F.V. Horizon after completion.
Mission Text | |||||||
You receive a transmission from Warden Greene.
"Attention all pilots!" says Warden Greene. "I know everyone here is excited. After all, it's not every day you have a major victory against an untested foe!" Warden Greene pauses. "We may have won this battle -- but it was at a cost. Some of our ships didn't return back to the battle group and frankly, that's unacceptable. I don't leave a man behind. EVER." "So listen up. Command has OK'd a search and rescue mission. Every ship equipped with a scanning device needs to head back into subspace and locate Squadron 492. No exceptions. You are to search until each and every ship in that squad is accounted for and you are to bring back full scans so we know exactly what happened to 'em. DIS-MISSED!"
Completion Text | |||||||
"Unfortunately it looks like the aliens got Squad 492." Warden Greene shakes his head shamefully. "It's a real shame, they were good pilots. I will make sure each and every one of them posthumously receives the Earthforce Mark of Valor for their valiant acts. Let us observe a moment of silence please." Warden Greene pauses for a few moments. "Now back to business. Reports from their ships have indicated something very, very interesting. You are to report back here, oh-seven-hundred for a full briefing of your next mission! DIS-MISSED!"

Mission Text | |||||||
You're once again in the briefing room. And once again Warden Greene stands in the center next to the holographic projector. The only difference is this time it's been activated and it's displaying what appears to be a map of subspace.
"Pilots," booms Warden Greene, "the eggheads at Lyceum have spent a lot of time getting this chart for us, so pay attention." He points to a small glowing orb near the center of the display. "We are here. Over here," he says pointing at another marked orb not far from the first, "is where we found the remains of Squadron 492. Now here's the important part -- so listen up." He highlights another orb on the map very near to the one denoting the lost squadron. "This is LACS S4492 -- Lyceum Astrometrics Charted System : Subspace Sector Four-Thousand Four-Hundred and Ninety-Two. Fancy name, huh?" "Scans recovered from Squadron 492 flight recorders have indicated a strong alien presence in LACS S4492. Very strong. Our intelligence team tells me it's extremely likely there is an alien outpost or stronghold of some sort in this area. Our scanners from the fleet can't penetrate subspace... That's where you pilots come in." "Earthforce Intelligence needs you to travel to LACS S4492 and determine what exactly is there. I don't have to tell you how important this information is but it could be dangerous. So get in, scan the targets, and get out in once piece. Good luck!" |

"Now don't get too excited pilots!" says Warden Greene smiling, "It's just like any other mission -- just with a lot more destruction! So get out there, give 'em hell! DIS-MISSED!"
Completion Text | |||||||
"Excellent work pilots! I'd call the operation a blazing success! Things keep going this way -- we'll be home before we know it!" Warden Greene laughs. "We're really smashing those aliens, aren't we?" Most of the pilots cheer.
"Settle down, we gotta get back to business!" says Warden Greene. "I've sent word to Command of our success and they have new orders in the pipe! Report back here at oh-seven-hundred for your next briefing. Until then, DIS-MISSED!" |

Mission Text | |||||||
"Pilots! We're moving out!" says Warden Greene from a half-empty briefing room. "Command has issued our new orders and we're establishing a new front line in LACS S4492!"
"You might be wondering where half of our pilots went," he continues as he notes how sparse the room is. "Well this is a two-stage operation! Command wants half of us to transport supplies to the new outpost to get it up and going. The other half of us are still here. It's our job to keep the runners safe and clear out the way to LACS S4492 as they set up the station." Warden Greene chuckles. "If you ask me we're the lucky ones, we get to blast some alien carapace while the other guys have to haul freight!" A few laughs break out around the room. Warden Greene silences them quickly. "We're not gonna be killing aliens with our laughter and the mission starts in 30! Get to your ships now! DIS-MISSED!"
Completion Text | |||||||
Constable Jefferies is a striking blonde woman who stands at the front of a small briefing room on Front Line Outpost. It's standing room only. After the last few pilots filter in, she begins.
"Good work pilots. The aliens have been thinned considerably in this sector and the transports have all arrived safely. We have a skeleton station constructed and our engineers will be hard at work over the coming days getting the full station operational. All of you should be proud -- Earthforce just made its first real foothold in Subspace!" |

They're setting up shop in LACS S4492 and they need pilots to transport the supplies. They've split up the force and as temporary Earthforce personnel we're the delivery team. I guess they figured we knew a thing or two about smuggling. The other half of the pilots are running protection. They're gonna keep us safe -- and we're gonna need them. The cargo we're running is heavy!"
"So, you got that?" asks Blue Pirate Wallace. "It's an easy mission. Just break past the aliens and get to LACS S4492. The other team will mop them up any resistance. Let's go get loaded up!"
Completion Text | |||||||

Destroy 9 of the subspace aliens in LACS S4492. They can be found hiding in the nebula east of Front Line Outpost in LACS S4492.
Mission Text | |||||||
You meet Constable Jefferies in a slightly bigger room than the last one.
"The engineers have been working hard, if you haven't noticed..." says Constable Jefferies motioning around the bigger room. "... and I'd like it if we can keep them going. Unfortunately they're under near constant attack by the aliens still remaining in LACS S4492." Constable Jefferies displays a large map on the screen behind her. "As you can see, this station is important for maintaining a presence in subspace. So we need to see it finished -- which means these aliens, they need to be dealt with. That's a job Command feels is perfect for you pilots." Constable Jefferies changes the display to one of the sector. "The aliens have been seen retreating to the nearby nebula between attacks. Intelligence thinks if we clear out the nebula in this sector, we'll put an end to the constant harassment out engineers see. Command agrees and I agree as well. So that's your mission. Clear out the nebula so the Engineering Corp can get this station fully operational!"
Completion Text | |||||||
"I think you pilots did it." says Constable Jefferies as she parses a report on the console in front of her. "The Engineering Corp hasn't reported an alien attack since you returned. That means construction of the station is again underway and we'll keep our foothold in subspace. This was a very important tactical victory, I couldn't be more proud!"

Mission Text | |||||||
"Now that we have this station fully operational it's time to hit the aliens even harder." says Constable Jefferies in the newly completed briefing room. It looks similar to the one aboard the E.F.V. Horizon. "With the station scanners we've detected a large alien force in LACS S6230. Intelligence thinks taking this force down could cripple the alien forces beyond repair and bring about a quick victory. Intelligence hasn't let us down so far, so I believe them..." She pauses briefly and then continues, "... and so does Command. They've sent the E.F.V. Sovereign to LACS S6230 with a few escort squads."
"However, shortly after arriving in LACS S6230, the battle group dropped off scanners due to subspace interference. Their last report was that the sector was clear but things can change quickly out there. The interference is still jamming most if not all of our transmissions so I need a squad to check up on the battle group. You pilots have an excellent performance record, so you've been volunteered for this next mission." Constable Jefferies flashes a smile. "Travel to LACS S6230, meet up with the battle group and make sure they're OK. If they need assistance, assist them. You'll get further orders when you arrive. Good luck!"

"After all the hard work and lives lost getting this station constructed and operational, I hate to see it abandeoned." says Constable Jefferies grimly. "But we have no choice."
Murmurs make their way around the briefing room as Constable Jefferies turns on the holo-projector. It displays a large red mass heading towards the small green blip that represents the station. "As you can see, an alien swarm is headed this way. Our defenses can't do anything to stop it and it would be suicidal to stay here and try. That's why I'm giving a general evacuation order. All personnel are ordered to leave the station immediately!" "Pilots, our transports are at best... lightly defended. I need you to cover them as they make their escape. Keep those aliens off us! Mission Text
"I think we learned something over the course of this campaign." says Warden Greene from the briefing room aboard E.F.V. Horizon. "We learned these aliens are a serious matter. They are more dangerous, they are smarter and they have greater numbers than we assumed them to ever have."
Warden Greene turns on the holo-projector and it begins to display a list, in slow marquee crawl, of every officer lost over the course of the campaign. "Many good officers gave their lives so we could learn these lessons. We need to make sure Earthforce Command doesn't forget that." He pulls a small round disc from the holo-projector and it deactivates. "This is a list of those officers. I want to see it delivered to Lyceum Wormhole Research." "I want Command to know just what this cost."

"We need to know more about these aliens before we go back in. We need to be more informed and have tested tactics. Command is in talks with Lyceum for a research mission to Subspace. I'm sure they're going to need good pilots for their work. When the time comes, we'll need you again." |

"It was an old Hearthling, that's what Terrans used to be called, by the name of Sunny Shoe... I believe?" Pytheas 3000 looks a tad befuddled. "Regardless, Sunny Shoe once said 'Know thy enemy'."
"So, here we both are to learn more about the Aveksaka." Pytheas 3000 sees your look and clarifies. "Ah, yes, the 'Unknown Subspace Aliens' do have a name. They are known as the Aveksaka. Anyway, your first task is at hand!" "The Aveksaka have been breeding galaxies all across Subspace! They seem to lay eggs near the spatial anomalies that are prevalent throughout their dimension. Remember this; it makes your task all that much easier!" Pytheas 3000 emphasizes his last sentence. "For as many questions that DNA sample answered, it's left me with even more!" says Pytheas 3000. "An egg with DNA that dense; there's no telling just what it could hatch into..."
Pytheas 3000 examines the DNA sample again. "... really it seems it could hatch into, well, anything!" "Simon, I'd like you to return to the Aveksaka Hatchery and let the eggs hatch this time. Poke them with your weapons to encourage them to hatch, but don't one shot them or they'll never hatch! When they do hatch, scan and collect a sample from one of the alien young by killing it." Mission Text
"Simon, I've discovered a very interesting feature in both DNA samples," says Pytheas 3000 as you enter his lab. "It seems the Aveksaka have a biologically hardwired affinity to a rare form of radiation only found in Subspace!"
"I need validation though! My hypothesis is still just that -- I need proof." Pytheas 3000 walks you towards a window in his lab. "Out there I have two Aveksaka I have captured. One unfortunately has died. I require detailed scans of both for analysis and the stations scanners aren't delicate enough for such a task. So, scan the aliens for me and perhaps we can get to the bottom of this."
Completion Text | |||||||
"Ah-ha!" exclaims Pytheas 3000. "The immediate evidence seems to fit my hypothesis. The deceased Aveksaka was most definitely deceased due to the lack of exposure to a rare form of radiation ... where as its companion has been getting regular exposure. Hmmm..."

"Simon, I'm sure you already know what I'm going to ask of you next. As the old hearthlings often said, the proof is in the put-in -- William Camdem I think," Pytheas 3000 says pausing to think. "Who cares who said it; make your put-in some new anomaly scans for me!"

Mission Text | |||||||
"Now that I've fully read the report sent to me by Pytheas 3000 I think I know what direction to take our testing," says Timocharis 3000. "I need alien tissue samples!"
"I'm sure you wondering, 'what about the test subjects I brought you?' I have them incubating in the nearby anomaly -- but they're eggs and sadly lack the tissues I need. You see, the aliens, they don't need to have constant exposure to anomalies -- they can be away from them for a time before they suffer withdrawal effects and ultimately die. This leads me to believe they have a way of storing the radiation!" "I just need the proof... and I think I know where I could find it. Simon, I've located multiple hatcheries, Prabhava as they're called in the Aveksaka ... tongue? They don't exactly speak as much as they use some sort of Psionic telecommunication... Never mind. Simon, if you travel to these Prabhava, I'm sure you can 'persuade' some of the aliens to hatch and perhaps obtain the samples I need."

He proceeds to slice it open, taking a sample and put it in a machine in his lab. After a few minutes of waiting, the machine dings and displays a copious amount of data on a nearby screen.
"Ah-ha! Just as I suspected! This tumor is highly irradiated! Now, we just need to run some more te..." Timocharis 3000 is interrupted as a klaxon sounds. |

"That was an adventure Simon," says a relieved Timocharis 3000 when you return. "and it's also given me something to think about. I scanned the anomaly in our system and it's emitting high levels of Pyritic radiation -- I think the radiation accelerated the growth of those eggs! Without the containment field, they hatched almost instanty!"

Kill the Captive Aveksaka in LACS S1969 confinement. Return to Timocharis 3000 in Lyceum Advance Research Station when you are finished.
Mission Text | |||||||
"It's all so obvious. Not only do they need the radiation to survive, it empowers them! See?" Timocharis 3000 displays some tissue samples he has in containment on a nearby view screen. "I've been exposing these tissue samples you collected to varying doses of radiation." He points a few healthy, growing samples. "These are the samples which have been receiving the highest doses -- they've regenerated. Tissues I thought were dead, destroyed -- completely regenerated!"
"I have a few captive Aveksaka, test subjects I suppose, contained in a nearby sector; one containing an anomaly emitting extremely high doses of radiation. Simon, I'd like you to terminate the test subjects. In the process observe the effects of the radiation... Just in case the radiation does provide regenerative effects, I've set up a containment field -- so just try to take care of business inside it." Timocharis 3000 looks excited. "Science, always so surprising!"
Completion Text | |||||||
"Exactly as I suspected Simon. The radiation source provided extreme regenerative effects which were only countered by the radiation dampening containment field! I think we've made a major discovery today!"

Scan 3 different types of Aveksaka in either Prabhava Dve, Tra or Katur. Return to Timocharis 3000 at Lyceum Advance Research Station in LACS S1969 when you are finished.
Mission Text | |||||||
"I think by this point our theory is all but proved -- but the Lyceum is a little pickier than I am when it comes to verifying data. They'll require that I have a bit more proof before we can say it's a fact -- and honestly, it's a good idea."
Timocharis 3000 activates a view screen and turns it towards you. It displays images of various aliens. "As you might have noticed during your time here in subspace, the Aveksaka come in many flavors. Our initial results come only from one alien phenotype! If we can replicate similar results -- with even more phenotypes -- I think it's safe to say all varieties of Aveksaka have a radiation dependency!" "I think you know what this means already, Simon," says Timocharis 3000. "I need some additional scan logs! Return to the Prabhava and 'encourage' some more eggs to hatch. I'll need the scans of each additional phenotype!"
Completion Text | |||||||
"Excellent, this data certainly adds credence to my previous assumptions," says Timocharis 3000 reviewing your scan records. "I think we can safely infer that all Aveksaka have this weakness -- or is it strength?"

Return the Aveksaka Research Paper to Apollonius 3000 in Lyceum Wormhole Research.
Mission Text | |||||||
When you enter Timocharis 3000's lab, you are surprised to find Pytheas 3000 is there as well. "Ah, so good to see you again Simon," says Pytheas 3000 in his tinny voice. "It's time to publish our findings!" He points to a pile of holodiscs sitting on the lab bench. "As it's been said, by Will-I-Am Shakeys-pare I believe, 'All's well that ends well.' With all the data we've collected, I think we've gained valuable insight into Aveksaka biology -- quite a well ending indeed!"
"So, our premise," continues Pytheas 3000. "Is that the Aveksaka are biologically linked to the anomalies peppered across Subspace -- more specifically, Pyritic radiation generated by them! Furthermore, the radiation triggers biological regeneration -- and the lack of radiation triggers degredation." "And," adds Timocharis 3000, "we posit this holds true for all Aveksaka phenotype!" "Yes, very true," finishes Pytheas 3000. "So, Simon, we're going to continue our research here. Perhaps you could deliver our report to Lyceum Wormhole Research for us?"
Completion Text | |||||||
"Very interesting research," says Apollonius 3000 reviewing the paper and data you've brought him. "I'll make sure this information is passed along to both Earthforce and the Paxians. It will be up to them to develop weapons and tactics based on it."
"In any case, your assistance in our field research was invaluable. On behalf of the Lyceum, we'd like to bestow upon you this Honorary Diploma!" |

Travel to Uparaksana Tra off of LACS S1138 and collect 5 Alien Fighters for Geoffery Cantor, B.P.A.T.E. The outpost there launches them.
Mission Text | |||||||
"The easiest way to manufacture the latest technologies is to do a bit of spying..." says Geoffery Cantor, B.P.A.T.E. "Often times your competitors will think of innovations that you've never imagined! With a little bit of espionage ... you can ensure your product is competitive when it hits the market. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have Blue Photons manufactory rolling out these new models either. When a market is flooded with cheap units sporting identical tech -- it's obvious whose product will be more popular."
"But, I digress. In order to create a fighter capable of inflicting the damages required by Earthforce on these ... aliens ... we're going to learn a few of their inside secrets, more or less use their own tech against them. The first step towards successfully doing this is to obtain samples. I've obtained coordinates to an Aveksaka outpost. Preliminary scouting missions have reported an Aveksaka carrier is located there. All you need to do is go in and take what we're after!"
Completion Text | |||||||
"Ah, these fighters will make an excellent base to build our own product on. Just look at them! Light, high tensile exo-skeletons -- just waiting to be hollowed out and filled with the latest Terran components!"

Mission Text | |||||||
Geoffery Cantor, B.P.A.T.E. sits behind a large design table. Displayed upon it are blueprints for Blue Photon's new line of Subspace Fighters. Geoffery Cantor, B.P.A.T.E. addresses you without even looking up. "From the outside they look extremely similar to the alien fighters, don't they? Inside though," he looks up at you and smiles. "Inside, they're filled to the brim with some of the most advanced components on the market. When they're finally finished they'll be worth a hefty credit sum I imagine -- a portion of which will go to me. Ahhhh, capitalism!"
"Now, about those components for the inside of our, ahem my, fighter. I've located a Terran debris field here in Subspace! Apparently it was pulled in during the phase -- mostly it's worthless junk. However, some of the components gained rather unique properties during the dimensional shifting. I require some of these components; they'll make excellent innards for this fighter!"
Completion Text | |||||||
"Amazing the properties gained by a dimensional shift, isn't it <playername>?" asks Geoffery Cantor, B.P.A.T.E. "To think that this energy core gained double it's max production capacity simply by random rearrangement of its containment lattice Or that small molecular changes have made this metal lighter and stronger than the alloys mined from our planets. <playername>, I think these fighters are going to be something special!"

"I think I know what your first errand is. I'll give you this containment device. You can use it to create a viable sample from the plasma them aliens spray. Good Luck!"

"Hoo boy that stuff is corrosive!" says Mitchell Sparks, B.P.A.T.E as he examples the plasma samples. "I can't imagine what it was like trying to collect that stuff!"

Summary | |||||||
Return to Uparaksana Dve, off of LACS S1138, and collect 5 Aveksaka Missile Fragments.
Mission Text | |||||||
"Simon, the plasma you collected for me is already extremely corrosive -- and when I'm done with it, it'll be even more toxic! Why I'd reckon it'll garner an eight-point-five corrosive rating on the BPHAZMAT index. Now Simon, this causes a problem for me. Magnetic containment fields are fine for storing large quantities of this stuff, but for a delivery system -- it's a bit expensive. We need something cheaper and easier to mass produce!"
"So, here's what I had in mind Simon. The aliens that spit this stuff in the first place have a high tolerance to it. Their explosive ordnance has an even higher tolerance to it. If I can get some samples of their missile casings, I can create a bio-metallic alloy using Dr. Muenster's armor plating that'll last long enough to deliver the payload. Sure, it'll disintegrate if the missile takes too long to impact -- but that's not my problem!" Mitchell Sparks, B.P.A.T.E laughs. "Simon, get back to Uparaksana Dve. The outposts there will launch projectiles at you. If you can shoot 'em down, you might be able to get me some good casings!"
Completion Text | |||||||
"Point defense! Give me time and I'll work out missiles that can evade it, but for now, it's the best way to take a rocket down." says Mitchell Sparks, B.P.A.T.E. "Anyway, I see you got those casing fragments for me. Good job!"

Travel to Avidhi Katur and collect 3 Thalaron Particle Samples.
Mission Text | |||||||
"Judging by the papers coming out of the Lyceum about the Aveksaka, they're partial to radiation. Extremely partial. It seems that some of the abundant radiation types found in Subspace help invigorate or even regenerate them! However, I've been running some tests -- and the results are pretty surprising."
Mitchell Sparks, B.P.A.T.E swivels a view screen so it faces you. It contains a jumbled mess of cryptic numbers. "Most of these alien nasties can only take so much radiation, they need a balanced diet, just like us. If you overexpose them... the results ain't pretty. In combination with the corrosive plasma warhead, I think we could make a missile that bores into the aliens and releases a toxic dose of radiation!" "I've located a rather rare radiation source in Avidhi Katur -- it's emitting Thalaron particles! Maybe you could go collect some of those for me?"
Completion Text | |||||||
"Looks like that anomaly was a mite dangerous, Simon," says Mitchell Sparks, B.P.A.T.E when he sees the expression on your face. "Oh well, what's done is done. Did you get the particle samples for me?"

Travel to LACS S408 and destroy the anomaly there.
Mission Text | |||||||
"Simon, Command wants us to make significant progress against the Aveksaka. They've designated LACS S408 as our first target. We've built a decoy outpost in nearby LACS S2525 and Intelligence feels an attack on Sector Four-oh-nine will draw a counter-attack there. One we're well prepared for, of course," says Warden Jefferies with a wink. "It's a trap!"
"LACS S409 is a hatchery. This gives us two options. First, we could go in and hit the eggs and hatchers. This would thin out the Aveksaka in surrounding sectors. Our second option is a bit more drastic." She pulls up a rendering of a subspace anomaly on the holo-projector. "We could destabilize the anomaly, disrupting the growth cycle of the Aveksaka. Lyceum tells us this would lead to defects and substantial weakness in future alien generations in the surrounding sectors. So, what's it going to be?" asks Warden Jefferies. "Looks like you want to bring out the big guns Simon," says Warden Jefferies. "To collapse the anomaly you'll need ethereal lasers -- I hope you came prepared. Good Luck!"

Mission Text | |||||||
Warden Jefferies addresses all the members of Strike Force Zeta from the briefing room aboard Tango Outpost. You barely fit in the room and the station looks hastily constructed and clearly unfinished. "Intelligence expects the coordinated series of attacks we just carried out to bring the Aveksaka out on the offensive. More specifically, here to LACS S2525." She activates the holo-projector and it displays a map showing LACS S2525 and the surrounding galaxies, many of which have been attacked by Earthforce. "LACS S2525, or Tango Outpost, is a decoy sector. I tasked the Engineering Corp to build this bare-bones station. They've also been nice enough to set up cloaking fields and an impressive array of drones. Simply put, they've helped me set a trap."
"Pilots," Warden Jefferies continues, "it's our job to be there when that trap is sprung. We need to defend Tango Outpost and stop the alien offensive! If we stop their momentum now, we can go on the offensive unimpeded and push even deeper into their territories!"
Completion Text | |||||||
"That was quite a battle," says Warden Jefferies proudly, addressing all the pilots in the briefing room. "I haven't seen a fray that one sided in a very long time! Tango Outpost still stands and the alien attack was completely repelled." Warden Jefferies takes a more serious tone. "This is a major turning point in this region of Subspace. We finally have the Aveksaka on the run."

Mission Text | |||||||
"I've informed Earthforce Command of our success and they've sent us new orders from Intellegence," starts Warden Jefferies from the briefing room. She's displayed a large map of Subspace on the holo-projector and a sequence of galaxies are flashing. "We're to make an offensive push into LACS S2010," she says highlighting the first flashing galaxy. "This is intended to clear the way to Kottara Ekam, here," she continues highlighting the next flashing galaxy. "Command believes Kottara Ekam is a stronghold for the aliens and they'd like it razed. But that can only happen if we get our capital ships in -- which won't happen unless we clear the way!"
"You've got your orders!" yells Warden Jefferies firmly. "Let's head out!"

"Command is pleased, "says Warden Jefferies. "and so am I. Clearing LACS S2010 went smoothly and we only suffered minimal casualties! You guys did great work and I think you've earned a break. Your next briefing isn't for an hour... so hit the bar, take a nap, whatever! Just don't be late!"

"I hope you enjoyed some time off pilots but it's time to get back to business!" says Warden Jefferies. She flicks on the holo-projector. "As you know, we just cleared LACS S2010. That means we can move in the heavy artillery -- which should let us take Kotarra Ekam. I don't need to tell you how important this location is to Command -- once it's ours we're going to build an advance HQ there and push even further into Subspace."
"So, here are the targets," says Warden Jefferies cycling through images on the holo-projector. "We have one outpost there. That is the primary target. Kottara Ekam is also host to some stationary defense platforms. Those are your secondary targets. When all targets are neutralized, you're to report back here. Easy, right?"
Completion Text | |||||||
"This is the biggest victory we've seen in Subspace. We've taken the fight to an Aveksaka Stronghold and driven them from it! "Excellent! You are just who I am looking for! I have been researching how smaller aliens, like the Rahnti, are controlled by some of the more impressive specimens, like the Vazi... Unfortunately my research has been hampered by a lack of ... field research. I am far too valuable to risk on a combat sortie into alien controlled territories! This is why I need you! You are proven in combat with the aliens and you could retrieve the tissue samples I need." "The rewards would be great for anyone who could do this. Will you help?"
Completion Text | |||||||
You heave a very large specimen container onto the cold, steel bench in Xenobillius 3000's lab. "So you've retrieved it? I can't believe it!" He cracks the lid and inside lays a heaping mound of alien flesh. "Yes, yes," says Xenobilius 3000 as he gives a precursory examination to the container's contents. "Yes... YES! I think you've found it (playername). Excellent work!"
