Starting with solar panels unequipped and then equipping them, traveling away from the sun starting at distance 0 going a speed of 49 the energy recharge is 34 until a distance of about 1700, it then changes to -9. Traveling back toward the sun energy recharge changes to +9 at about 1500.

Conclusion: If a ship is moving with solar panels equipped at the barrier where a drop is in recharge power instead of the recharge dropping 1 'zone' it will drop to the negative of the last zones recharge power.

Nap's Tests (Jan 20, 2015 - ???)

Tests are being done by equipping panels after arriving on the target distance from the sun. While traveling between points panels are unequipped.
