An aura is an area effect that modifies some attribute of ships (positively or negatively) that pass within a certain range. Auras may be generated by nebulae, suns, planets, moons, or field generators equipped on bases, player ships or AI. They are displayed around the ship as Neuro Tweak Icons.
Some auras only affect enemies or squad mates, while other auras oscillate between different effects over time.
