The Crater

An old lion in action

Having braved the perils of Ngorongoro, you now arrive in Ngorongoro Crater. This place is as idyllic as the name suggests and as you arrive, you might see Zebras and Lions frolicking and playing together in the savanah below the crater- though as soon as they notice you, the peace is shattered as Zebra and Lion alike move in for the kill. Since this is your first encounter with Lions, you would do well to note their highly damaging thorax-type weapon and would do well to avoid it. If you manage to overcome these seemingly insurmoountable foes, you have several paths from which to choose (though the sane would choose to turn back)- which lead to the popular vacation spot, Lake Manyara, Crater Highland, and the Mara River.

Note also the landmark feature for which this galaxy was named: the ring of suns- visible as the group of yellow circles on the radar recording displayed to the right- that creates a gravitational potential "crater. Entering this ring used to spawn a pack of Giant Space Aliens that resided there and would attack any unwary intruder. This area contains the warp to Crater Highland.
