Capital Ships are typically used by those with Fleet Focus, but are also sometimes used by other class for their classes special aura generators, available only on capital ships.
Most capital ships have large bonuses to shielding, energy, range, radar and critical hit resistance but can have other bonuses as well. They often have moderate resistances to laser, energy, heat, radiation and surgical, high resistance to physical and low resistance to mining. They also rarely feature more than 2 augmenter slots.
