L0L's Missions

Engines 21

So in Lunacy, next to Brute Force, there's a warp called "Practice Room". Inside the practice room there's 4 vultures with the name, "Assistants" and all drop keys, 4 keys are required to enter the next room called "Stage". Inside Stage is the uber, Ballerina. She flys a vulture modified with a pink graphic and upon entering shouts, "Come and dance with me...". Her main weapon is a beam with about 500 range and incredibly high RoF, something like 35k DPS. This does laser damage, but her Projectile (which acts somewhat like a vulture's projectiles) do 10k dmg on impact but with a low RoF, like 2 seconds. She goes around speed 300 and has about 250k sheilds with 50% resist to all but heat, which is 60%.

Upon killing she drops Ballerina's Nimble Slippers (t21 engine that focuses on turning) Ballerina's Trophy (commod used for engine 21) 2b credits

The mission to kill her starts in Sol at Enforcer station, and reads

A shady salesman walks up to you. "Hey you, you over there. What's your name? <playername>? Okay <playername>, I heard you thought you had the best engine possible, am I right?" You look at him and cock your head slightly to the left, not getting the gist of what the small, grubby man is trying to say. "Alright buddy, lemme just get out with it. I was a aerobatics coach for this girl, see?" he looks at you, but you don't respond and he continues, "and she was the [i]best[/i]. I mean, I don't like to brag, but she was going places!" He stops, a faraway look in his eyes as he looks up at the ceiling. "It all fell apart. She thought I was holding her back and [i]left[/i] me! Not only that, but she also took an engine prototype I'd been working on, trying to make it better so she'd perform better in her shows. She then won the systemwide championship, as if to spite me." he said, almost bitterly. "Basically <playername>, I need you to destroy her ship and get that engine back to me. Are you up for it?

Requires Engine 20 Requires 21 Skill Points Requires one kill of Ballerina Requires 1 Ballerina's Trophy

Reward: Engine 21.

Upon finishing the mission,

"So <playername>, do you have the stuff?" he says, looking slightly bedraggled. "Oh good, you have it" he says as he takes the trophy and walks away. You call after him, asking about engines 21 and the special engine she dropped upon dying. "Oh, I tinkered with that engine. I have no use for it now, but you should be able to use it without trouble. Besides, I'm gonna pawn this trophy and make a fortune!" he turns the corner and you feel queasy, almost as if you'd done something illegal. The feeling passes as you gaze upon the newly installed engine, with its faintly glowing surface...

Engine is approximately 25k thrust, 9k turning, with a +10% speed bonus. Size is medium- large, something like 100.

Warp Navigation 2 Alternate

EarthForce Space Mastery (requires level 100) Lieutenant Sheen, Sol (at Earth Central)

After docking your ship, you walk over to the office of the ambitious young Lieutenant who’s been making a name for himself in the news with stories of his campaigns against the pirate menace. He looks at you and you see a twinkle in his eye. “Glad to see you came, <Playername>. I’m sure you know me from the holo- news, am I right?” he looks at you, and you simply stare blankly. You’ve seen his face, of course, but are unwilling to stroke this young man’s ego by acknowledging it. He seems slightly put out but carries on, “No? Well, regardless, I need your help. My campaign against the pirates has been going well, but according to the accounting section of EarthForce, I’ve been spending too much. We can no longer pay for fuel, rations, and space whiskey for the crews of the warships, so I’ve had to fire the lot. But I figured, ‘hey, I’m a smart guy. I’m sure I can find someone to help me with this’, and this is where you come in. You destroy the remaining pirates, and in exchange I’ll give you access to that wormhole over there, you know, the big purple and yellow spinning one?”

Mission Summary: Destroy pirates throughout EarthForce Space for Lt. Sheen and prove your readiness to enter the next level of the universe.

0/10 Infernos Destroyed 0/10 Space Blue Interceptors Destroyed 0/5 Goblins Destroyed 0/5 Space Blue Betas Destroyed 0/5 Skill Points Acquired

Reward: 50,000,000 credits, Warp Navigation 2

You walk back into the office of Lt. Sheen with a disk containing verified proof of the rampage you’ve wreaked on the unsuspecting pirates. He looks at you and mocks astonishment, “This is wonderful <Playername>! Man, you are one ruthless bastard!” he chuckles, then sobers and keeps talking, “No, but really <Playername>, you’re a miracle worker. I mean, this could get me promoted! Thanks for this. And <Playername>, just don’t tell anyone I told you to do this, okay? Thanks, I’m sure you know that the media doesn’t exactly look upon hiring mercenaries to do military work in the best fashion… Anyways, here are the passcodes to enter that wormhole over there. Good luck!”

Warp Navigation 3 Alternate

Wild Space Mastery (requires level 250) Commander Sheen, EarthForce Wild Space Outpost (at station there, Treehouse I think it is)

You walk into the office of the EarthForce commander and sit down in a padded leather chair. The commander swivels in his chair to look at you and your eyes lock. The Crow’s Feet at the corners of his eyes have intensified and he seems much older than he looked a few months ago when he was assigned this post, you recall seeing his face in the holo- news and quickly recognize the differences. He exhales deeply, and begins to speak. “<Playername>, we have a problem here.” He says, bowing his head as he says it as if he’s ashamed of what he’s asking. “EarthForce Wild Space Outpost is the foray of EarthForce into an area that’s not protected by our Fuzz warships.” He pauses to take a drag of a cigarette that, until now, had been quietly nestled in the corner of his mouth and resumes speaking, “It’s been a disaster. EarthForce command hoped that we would be able to tame the pirate scourge that infests this area of the universe, but it’s us who’ve been tamed. We’ve suffered heavy losses at the hands of the pirates who control this area of space until we’re nearly falling back into Wild Space Outpost itself. We just don’t have the police power to spare to protect such isolated expeditions into wild space, and so we need your help.” He stops talking, taking another puff of the cigarette and looking around, his gaze finally settling on you. “<Playername>, we need you to ease some of this pressure. Destroy the pirates that threaten our outpost here and I’ll give you the access keys to the Perilous- space wormhole over there. So <Playername>, do we have a deal?”

Mission Summary: Destroy pirates throughout Wild Space and prove your readiness to enter the next level of the universe.

0/10 Basils Destroyed 0/10 Parsleys Destroyed 0/5 Cleft Thorns Destroyed 0/5 Space Blue Gammas Destroyed 0/10 Skill Points Acquired

Reward: 100,000,000 credits, warp navigation 3

Upon completing your task, you return to the office of the commander with proof of your endeavors. After looking over the verified reports, he turns to you with a youthful vigor you haven’t seen since the pictures of him cutting the ribbon to the new Wild Space Outpost station. “Great work <Playername>! We’ll start rebuilding our defenses right away; we can take these pirates now that you’ve crippled their offensive operations. I hope we can work together again sometime, <Playername>.”

Inferno Hunter

Inferno Hunter (Requires under level 80), repeatable

Sir Laramy Hunter, Earth Central, Sol

“Welcome to my humble abode, <playername>!” Sir Laramy Hunter says, as you walk in to the huge room. Adorned with pirate crests of all sort, the room is a hunter’s paradise. Sir Hunter sits down in a chair and lights up a large Paxian Cigar. “Do you mind if I indulge myself? I really am quite fond of these Paxian cigars…” he says, mumbling between the large cigar in his mouth. As if he’d actually listen to you. You make a gesture indicating that you don’t mind the clouds of aromatic smoke that curl around your head and make you woozy. “<Playername>, I have a problem” he says in between puffs of his cigar, “you see, I am getting old. And I’m old enough now that it’s hard for me to keep up this collection” he finishes. “I need you to go out and kill some infernos for me, deal? Then I’ll give you some leftover experience points, I have quite a lot and don’t use them.” He asks.

Mission Summary: Find and kill 10 Inferno ships for Sir Hunter

Mission Objectives: 0/15 Infernos killed

Mission Rewards: 4000 experience points

Upon Completion: “Good work <Playername>! I can finally finish my collection!”

Zero's Missions

Hunting Shadows

Mission Location: Earthforce Headquarters [Mars]

Minimum Level: 400

Prerequisite: (Ring World Under Attack?)

"Welcome, [Player]. I'm glad to see that you're here."

Warden Sigonus motions that he would like you to accompany him while walking around the station. As you fall in step
with him, he pulls out a small hologram projector and activates it.

"I'm sure that by now, you've heard of the recent influx of piracy breaking out at the borders of Wild Space."

Images flicker on the projector as the warden speaks before settling on a hazy wire-frame of a sleek, dark ship. "I'm
sure you recognize this hull design."

You nod silently, still staring at the image.

"No doubt you might have encountered these ships before, but I'll inform you nevertheless," continues Sigonus. "These
are Dark Guards, piloted under the flag of Dark Commerce. An insidious lot, they are—organized like any merchant guild,
but up to their necks in black market piracy."

He flicks a switch and the projector shuts off.

"We've been preoccupied mopping up the last of the Ring World threat—but Dark Commerce has conveniently taken advantage
of this, and mobilized against any ship flying trader or Earthforce colors."

Sigonus pauses for a moment, then turns to you.

"Our assignment for you is simple: Eliminate these Dark Guards, and help us quell the threat."

Mission Summary: Destroy 20 Dark Guards.

Mission Reward: 2,000 EXP | 15,000,000 Credits | (3) Constable Rank

A Dark Legacy

Mission Location: Earthforce Headquarters [Mars]

Minimum Level: 500

Prerequisite: (Hunting Shadows)

"Ah, you've arrived at last!"

A uniformed man with the insignia of an admiral stands up from behind his desk to shake your hand, then gestures to
a nearby chair. "Please, [Player], sit down."

You take a seat and start to ask for the whereabouts of Warden Sigonus, but the man holds up a hand. "Warden Sigonus
is preoccupied in our outpost in Perilous Space, as was I until a couple days ago. My apologies as well—I haven't
properly introduced myself. I am Admiral Cadwell."

Cadwell sits back down and pulls out some files from a drawer in his desk. "I must congratulate you on a job well
done—you've eliminated a good number of squadrons from Dark Commerce. However..."

At this, he pulls out a single sheet of paper, and places it in front of you.

"We've received some intelligence that Dark Commerce, rather than step their piracy down a notch, has merely deployed
their most fearsome ships."

He sighs and looks at you grimly.

"I've heard of your numerous accomplishments, [Player]. I've also heard of the many friends and allies that you've
made in your years as a pilot. Once again, we approach you with an urgent request: Dark Commerce must be stopped.
Already they've destroyed or captured many respectable merchants and enforcers. Please, seek out the heart of their
fleets, and show them no mercy."

Mission Summary: Destroy 10 Dark Transports.

Mission Reward: 4,000 EXP | 30,000,000 Credits | (5) Constable Rank

Agent Howser's Demise

Mission Location: Volcom Outpost

Minimum Level: 10

Prerequisite: Piracy (Lv. 1)

You see Vorian, leader of the Volcom Pirates, pacing about and muttering angrily to
himself. Although you try to edge around him, he sees you nevertheless and grabs
your shoulders.

"You there! Yes, you, whelp! That damned Agent Howser has been getting too cocky
for his own good. Prodigy Earthforce cadet, pah! He's an annoyance...but a
dangerous one. With him interfering our raids on Whiskey Outpost, I'll never get
enough silicon to repair my ship! I want you to seek him out and destroy him once
and for all. He'll probably be hanging around the Little Cadet Room like he always
does. Anyway, if you're successful—even though I doubt you'll be—I'll reward you
with some of our...technologies."

Mission Summary: Destroy Agent Howser.

Mission Reward: 1,500 EXP | 3,000,000 Credits | (1) Volcom's Pulse

Escaped!

Mission Location: Graveyard

Minimum Level: 80

Prerequisite: N/A

While wandering through the desolate halls of the station in Graveyard, you see
Professor Logan tearing his hair out wildly, lamenting about some valuable loss
or the other of his. Although you wisely try to leave, he spots you and latches
on to your arm.

"Y-You there! Yes, yes, you! I say, can you help out a poor researcher in need?
Some of my test subjects, a few psionic flares, have somehow escaped before I
could obtain a sample of their ethereal energies! They likely won't come down
quietly and you'll probably have to kill them—which may or may not result in
your death—but I'll make it worthwhile! I need those samples, I beg you! The
life...er, un-life of Fluffums depends on it!"

Mission Summary: Destroy 5 Psionic Flares.

Mission Reward: 3,000 EXP | 5,000,000 Credits | (1) Soul Beam

The UrQa Menace

Cygnus

You are walking through the back alleys of another dirty space station, when you spot him. The man you thought you killed, leaving him to burn in the destroyed hull of his spaceship; It is none other than Cardinal Bellarmine. Now, he lies in a pile of garbage, his eyes staring off into the sky, his lips twitching as if whispering some unseen melody.

Curious, you approach him and shake his shoulder lightly; instantly he spasms, throwing his entire body into the air with fright, windmilling his arms, until, at last, he sees who you are.

"You. You! It's you! You're the bastard who ruined me! You...how dare you attack me like that, and steal the holy relic of Absolution! I want it back, you hear me! I want it back this instant! It...it never would have happened if I'd had it...i could have...they wouldn't have..." he fades off into silence, muttering silently to himself, then glances up at you again, suddenly furious, "What are you still doing here!? Bring it back to me! Return my weapon! Steal it back from that vile impostor that has taken my place! If you do, you will have absolution!"

You stare at him for a long moment, and he raises an eyebrow, "And more money than you can dream of, of course. NOW BRING ME MY BABY!"

Mission requirements: Bring Bellarmine his Excommunicator. I should be quick about it; in his current state, he doesn't look like he will hang around for much longer.

After a long time of searching, you finally find Bellarmine, once again lying in a pile of garbage; this time, you lean close to listen to his rambling, as he mutters, "Beaten...cant believe...beaten! Lost! Run...away! Is that a...wormhole? It looks strange...clouds billowing out...clouds? Impossible...cant be...the aethyr...no...No...This cant be! This is Impossible! NO!"

His eyes clench tight, and his entire body seems to spasm; finally you shake him, and his eyes flash open with a gasp. He stares at you in terror for a long moment, and then closes them again, "Ah...Cygnus. You've returned. Good...good. I see you have my weapon...this means that the impostor who took my place has been defeated. Perhaps he will experience the same fate that I..." he pauses, shaking his head slightly, "In any case, with this I shall be able to return to my rightful place among the absolved. The next time you come for absolution, ask for my grace to receive your reward."

Standing and straightening his tattered robes, he walks from the alley with a slightly renewed sense of dignity, leaving you, confused, behind.
