How to write an Editorial

  1. Think of a topic. Have a new tactic you want to share? Want to rant about NOBODY's prices? Tired of the unwashed masses spamming up the forum? Tell us how it should be!
  2. Write it. This is the hard part. Try to write in a clear and consist manner. Alto essays have no fixed length, 2 sentences of incomprehensible ranting might get "Retired" quickly. If you actually want people to read it, please spellcheck. It makes it so much easier to read.
  3. Post it. Fairly easy. Make a new article with a name like "Essay:Bob on Bla bla" and post it up. The only important part is the "Essay" part in the front. This is to help differentiate between editorial articles and regular articles. Once you've done that add it to the top of "Most Recent Essays" section.

What not to write about

Well, I'm going to be fairly lenient here about what can be posted but knowing how the Internet ends up working there will be some guidelines. I reserve the right to add more if things get out of control.

  • No personal attacks. Talk about the game or a character but not the player. What I mean by that is... well, for example: Even if you think you know for a fact someone is a particular garden tool, it is not an appropriate subject for an editorial.
  • Everything GNU FDL everything must be submitted under the GFDL or similar copyleft licence. See link here for more info.
  • Things not SS. I hope this is obvious... this website is about SS. I agree, Metalica's Master of Puppets needs more Cowbells, but this isn't the right place to talk about it.
