Fractured Galaxies
Fractured Galaxies are specially named and icon-ed Wildspace galaxies where the Galaxy Ownership system does not apply. These galaxies cannot be owned, and are open to PvP combat, albeit with a strict but more open set of rules. Additionally, you can find the new Goop resource to extract, although because of a limited amount of these galaxies, competition is fierce.
Resources
Goop and Goop Juice are treated as industrial commodities, they cannot be transwarped or put in storage, and decay on universe death, and drop on death.
Benefits
Extracting Goop and processing it into Goop Juice with extractors (T20 station required)/factories bought from Building Academy Entrance is a precusor processing step in order to use Goop Juice on Command and Control Center's to boost extraction/factory rates by 25%. Additionally Goop colony boosters can also be purchased to boost initial colony population quickly. Note, Extraction Expert does not effect Goop extraction rate, so it is advised to extract it with the Station Mastery trade skill. Termites do not spawn in fractured galaxies, as Goop mysteriously keeps them away.
Risks
Fractured Galaxies have Attack Windows in which a 90 minute period every 72 hours occurs where stations are vulnerable. Warping into the galaxy will display it in event chat. This attack window is consistent every 72 hours except when Daylight Savings time may shift it by one hour.
The attack window is the only time stations can be placed and participate in combat (disabled otherwise), causing a bottleneck for any competition for placing stations.
Ship and permanent drone combat is always enabled regardless of active windows.
