Vazaha

One of the Lost Ancient Races. Ruins of their civilization can be found on some Planets.

History

No one has ever located a Vazaha homeworld. In fact, no one has ever located anything more than a planetary outpost on any world that was occupied by the Vazaha. This was due to the fact that the Vazaha were, much like the Paxians once, starbound vagabonds, content to explore the universe only calling their ships home. A Vazaha would be born in space and spend most of his life without ever seeing the surface of a planet any closer than orbit. Nearly all of their resources were grown in hydroponic bays or mined from asteroid belts they discovered as they wandered.

Life in space did have its benefits, though. Since the most of the entire Vazaha population was continually space-born, the Vazaha developed extremely powerful defensive systems and perfected the shield transfer technologies. Confident their defenses could repel any assault, the Vazaha were quick to mobilize for war when the UrQa invaded.

Having witnessed the power wielded by the UrQa upon the defeat of the Faranji, the Vazaha knew they must strike immediately before this new foe could gain a strong foothold in the universe. Calling all their fleets together, the Vazaha assumed an offensive position and assaulted the Iq'UrQa, the main UrQa invasion point. The battle, which lasted weeks, ended in what seemed to be victory for the Vazaha as they destroyed Iq'UrQa Kasa, the main colony in the enemy sector. They were not without their own losses though, and as they led their crippled fleet out of Iq'UrQa they were ambushed by more enemy forces which had lain in wait outside Iq'UrQa. Just days before, this fleet had ambushed the mostly undefended Vazaha habitation and research ships, destroying most of them in the process. The UrQa knew the Vazaha were powerful in numbers due to their shield transfer technologies, but by sacrificing their colony they had managed to divide the fleets and assure victory. The last of the Vazaha forces quickly fell, and the UrQa had once again exterminated another alien race from the universe.

Advanced Version

Some of the most advanced pieces of technology come from Golagoay Vazaha ruins, which require Vazaha Culture to use, including the rare Golagoay Vazaha Archtype.
