Shields are a tricky thing to choose: Should you go for a simply massive shield bank, and hope that you can tough it out, and take down your foes before they can kill you? Or should you go for a smaller shield bank, with greater regenerative capabilities, able to keep you fully shielded through battle, but in danger of simply being killed with one powerful blast!

Your choice depends on your class, but not only on your class, your playing style. A Speed demon would likely want a smaller, lighter shield, such as an Eclipse Blockade, so they can easily zip around their larger opponents without a heavy shield generator slowing their movements. But this is not always the case! Some Speed demons would rather use heavy fighters and heavier equipment to simply pump out massive amounts of damage!

Berserkers, Fleet commanders, and gunners prefer high bank above all else. These classes are meant to tank and focus on that more than regeneration. Good shields for them include Undershirt and Zombiestop.

Shield Monkeys strike a balance between bank and regeneration because they need shield regeneration to continue to provide healing capability. Popular shields include Oversized or gigantic misdirection or oversized/gigantic give and take.

And then, there are the stealthy snipers and seers, the Kings and Queens of the Night. For them, their choices are limited to the shields that emit as little light as possible, and they should choose based only on visibility. With any luck, and some skill, they will have no need for huge regen or shields, as their enemy will never see them coming.
