The entry and exit of Bonnet, guarded with a number of Bonnet Pirating Drones.

The Perfect Vacation Spot... for a space cougar... Bonnet... Its docile name conceals its true, fierce nature. Beware entering this domain for fear of never returning, once you jump in you have to obtain a Basil Bouquet (or use one you already have) to get out.

The Weather and Inhabitants

Bonnet is mostly a low visibility galaxy filled with Basil and Parsley AI that will attempt to kill you as soon as you enter, as well as some Bulk Trader II AI which mind their own business for the most part. All of the wormholes out of the Bonnet main galaxy are surrounded by 4 Pirating Drones and 4 Advanced Pirating Drones.

AI stations

Bonnet has 3 bases - Adelphia, Bonnet Hideout, and Ring World.

Adelphia is south east of the entrance.

Bonnet Hideout orbits 800 clicks from the the middle sun, and can sometimes be found sitting next to Roma. Sometimes the Bulktraders dock at the station.

Ring World orbits around the sun furthest from the entrance and is surrounded by 4 Advanced Pirating Drones. Electrical Engineering training is offered here at the cost of 50 Nuclear Waste per level, up to level 16. You can also train Weaponry up to level 16 here at the cost of 1 Traginium per level. Both of these commodities can be mined from the asteroid belt adjacent to Bonnet Hideout.

The Sights

Inside Bonnet, there are three side galaxies that are the lairs of three notorious villains, Stede Bonnet, Leonard McCoy and Rackham - each with their own drops; a blueprint for their ships, the unique commodity required to build them, and random DG loot from their loot tables. These and other bosses can be found in Coronet which requires a Basil Bouquet to enter. Bonnet is also the target of a series of missions that ultimately leads to the Warden.

The Business Opportunities

Onboard the station Bonnet Hideout one can trade Pirate Crests and Bronze Bars for Veteran Pirate Crests or Veteran Pirate Crests and Silver Bars for Master Pirate Crests.

Interesting Facts

  • Bonnet was initially at the edge of warp 2, frequently close to warp 1, and the source of much grief / hilarity on the ALL channel. Players would explore inside, instantly get ganked by the drones and then have to beg on ALL for rescue. This occurred frequently enough to cause more experienced players amusement.
  • Advanced pirating drones were initially cappable. They no longer are - but their lower cousins are.
