Drops are items or money that AI enemies may leave behind when they are destroyed. Some AI ships have self destruct mechanisms that prevent anything (other than money) from being left behind when they're destroyed.

You need a scoop of some sort in order to pick up any dropped items.

Other Drops

"DG" drops are very poor. Most are not that valuable and getting to the boss and killing it is even harder. Many say that it is not worth it but I hear that Jeff_L (the Star Sonata administrator) is going to change the drop rates and tables for dungeon galaxies, so that may be a new change.

"High end" bosses, like Marco Columbus, Sputty Nutty, Copper Queen, and the like, have the chance of dropping a very good item (or items) (from a DF 400 DG, as heard) and other random things, like demented augmenter blueprints, rare augmenters, Demented Give and Take shields, and other such equipment.

The AI in the Uber Zone (or "UZ") always drops good loot there, and the bosses in the other UZ areas. There are only UZ-based content drops, so do not expect a DF 400 DG drop but rather a Zebra Charger (a Cowboy Charger+ in short).

Now there are more than just "regular" items. There are all sorts of modified, "Demented", "Oversized", "Gigantic", and "Fine Tuned" equipment. Recently, the Star Sonata administrators have added AI to drop modded gear (for example, an "Ion Peashooter*"). These items have a little bonus (such as 2% speed, or 5% damage added on after other calculations, including skills and augmenters). Demented items are 5% better in every way (with a 1.05 speed mod to boot). Fine tuned gear gives 5% (this must be confirmed) and a little bonus relating to the item (as an example, a fine tuned fission thrust is 5% better and gives 51% docking speed). Fine tuned items can only be made from blueprints (DG drops). AI also have "common" drops. Blue gamma ships will drop "blue dust" (a commodity) while monochrome tints drop "kromelite". The AI don't always drop these "common commodities", but it is possible to expect it from them. These items cannot be made; they must be farmed off of the AI.
