Fixes:
- Fixed the Player Progression missions being complete at incorrect times
In part of fixing the DG drops for bosses, the DG boss list has been completely rewritten, you'll find that items will seem more appropriate for their tech etc. Although as a result, the DG drops page on the wiki is now completely incorrect.

Client changes (r3857) Additions:
- Added some stuff to mod panel - Drag the right boarder out to reveal
- Added /lkc bufficons to control the number of spaceobject on which you can see the rotating buff (aura/tweaks) icons around. Its only a temporary solution to help with heavy load galaxy lag on slower computer. A new implementation of the buff icons rendering is in process.
Tweaks:
- Greatly reduced client load when it is not rendering (background client rendering disabled and the client is not in focus).
- Disabled banking when using orthogonal camera.
- Slowed down slightly the small target (squad target) render updates to reduce their load on the system
- Smoothed up and improved the precision for the logicfps limit (although it will take slightly longer for it to adapt to a sudden change in system load). This should pretty much eliminate the stutter that was caused by the old implementation (there is other sources of stutter that are still being tracked and fixed).
- Reduced the amount of render state changes by almost 50%, what that mean is that weak graphic cards for which the state changes were a bottleneck, aren't as limited by it anymore resulting in a drastic fps increases in those few cases.
Fixes:
- Removed a few dozen source of fps stutter (a very few slow frame not long enough to drastically impact average fps, but enough for the game to not feel fluid).
- Fixed a few bugs in orthographic camera background renders.
- Fixed a few bug when background client rendering is disabled.
Server code changes (r9177): Additions:
- Team skills are partially added, most of the effects will be temporarily disabled temporarily for the transition.
Tweaks:
- Made it so that if you should have more Skill Points than you have, it will be instantly added on connection.
- Activity score calculation changed so that small teams (less than 10 accounts) will not grab 100 so easily.
- Permanent mutes now also apply in earthforce protected galaxies.
Fixes:
- Fixed Sun damage! Suns will now correctly deal damage taking your heat resistances into account.
- Fix for wildspace slave item tossing.
- Fixed a minor bug with the no jumping after PvP timer which was preventing jumps right after a server load
- Fixed a bug where the requirement to own a base in wildspace to attack bases and drones was preventing the player from attacking AI drones
- Decreased SP costs for core skills. Piloting now has a cost of 4+(2*level). All the other core skills follow 3+level
Content changes (r9177): Tweaks:
- Made Massif III/X larger and Massif II smaller (diameter)
- Made the Psionic ships look (200%~) cooler!
- Changed the missile on the Volcom Outpost in Nexus to be easier, removed the second Volcom Outpost
Fixes:
- Fixed a typo in the Paxian Warp Navigation 4 mission requesting 10 Ancient Pax Medals instead of 20 Paxian Medallions
- Fixed a bug in the Proficiency Augmenter mission descriptions requesting Sup. Tokens instead of Basic Tokens.

Universe reset specific: + Shrunk some of the Nexus galaxies a bit to reduce travel times and make the experience more accessible + Revamped the advanced target drones in Nexus + *Shiny* new DG boss + Reworked the trader missions, they now give more XP and money. ++ Additionally, the minimum level requirements have been removed, and the minimum Danger Factor they appear in have been reduced. + Added a couple of extra non-roaming Star Runners to The Nexus + New Goldenboy home system in the Earthforce Layer, includes some ship upgrades for their ships.

Additions:
- Reduced the network delay when in galaxy that is not overloaded. (overloaded galaxies will get the previous global network delay but normal load galaxy will see an increase in network responsiveness around the board).
- Made it so you can use items on a wild slave (only use, not equip/toss/anything)
- Changed the Bounty Hunter AI attack code, they'll judge whether it's worth their time to attack someone with a bounty before attacking.
- Added Demented HQ/Outpost (Will be in a few hours after the patch).
- Added Attached versions of all HQ/Outpost kits. (Will be in a few hours after the patch).
- Changed Gigantic, OS, micro, and nano C-beam's to also have splash like the regular one
+ Added a special drop table for Urzod.
- Gave the police drone a new glowmap.
- Added text for item descriptions for items which can't be transferred via TSL.
Tweaks:
- Made the Massif III about 10% bigger, fixed some other minor stuff to do with its visage.
- Strontium-90 Drop kill mission changed from gold to silver, 25 kills instead of 90 kills
- Changed the loadout on the Brigand Volcoms in the Nexus and removed their self-destructor.
- Changed the distance at which you can hear the ambient sound for a tractor beam to a constant rather than being based on the tractor beams max range.
- Increased the level of some Paximinus AI in The Nexus to level 9 from 6
- Reworked the trader missions. Plus item ones are still for p2p's only, they give the most money reward and least XP. Oversized item ones give the most XP (can give over a level each), and least money. Micro item ones give in the middle.
- Additionally, the minimum level requirements have been removed, and the minimum Danger Factor they appear in have been reduced (df part will only apply on new uni).
- Captured hive, ice pick, forgone, etc. pilots are now size 1 instead of 10.
- Enlarged Rattie Moe.

Client side changes (r3787) Additions:
- Created a custom normal map for zeus throne, zebucart and poseidon ships.
- Gave the Galaxy Map a close button in the top right corner
- Made the Spice Pirate (Oregano through to Rosemary) ships look pretty.
- Added some new visage stuff for Missiles. Missiles now have textures/glows for their damage type (for the most part).
- New textures for the following ships: Salty Tear, Orc, Goldenboy Sovereign, Goldenboy Minted Bar, Imp, Administrator, Blaze Inferno, Death Striker, Blood Striker, Wildfire Inferno and Monochrome Shade.
- New texture for the Emperor's Crown and King Midas' ship
Tweaks:
- Login scene sun and surrounding clouds now rotate the same direction
- Mission tracker bug fixes and updates, client support for new mission tags
- Removed the search button on the inventory (it served no purpose other than to tell you it was a search field). Replaced with text string.
- Removed the search in the skills list when docked at an AI base.
- Put in slightly different texture for the Massif ships (not sure why it didn't go before).
- Reduced the volume on the Envelopment/Womb sound by about 25%.
Fixes:
- Fixed a combo-box client crash where the child list-box would get "removed" before event processing would be finished
- Made it so particles emitted by sobs inherit the sobs transparencey/visibility (basically, if you can't see the Rotting Izer, you can't see it's particles)
- Fixed an issue that broke text color.
- Fixed broken particle inherit velocities
Server side changes (9013)
Additions:
- New ship Paximinus Scout in the Nexus for the AI Paxians that has a large vulnerability to surgical to make them a little bit less insanely hard for new players
- Added a little extra text to energybank descriptions to make it more obvious what they do
Tweaks:
- Beefed Flaming Snownet, new stats: +100% Damage, +100% Eletrical Tempering.
- Gave Aether scout an additional weapon, additional 10 speed, and increased the cost
- +10 speed for Wingship II
- Added 5-20 more speed on certain low tech ships that the player is likely to use in The Nexus to reduce travel times and increase the ability to dodge and run away.
- Changed MIRV a bit so they should split properly. If they don't, then chances are that target doesn't take mining damage (or not a lot).
- Made Drone Research give +1 drone equip slot per level, with a bonus one at level 5 (+6 total, current absolute max is now 25 on a T21 Freighter)
- Changed the Rotting Equanimizer Blueprint to give an upgrade item and not take an Equanimizer
- Sniper analysis will persist at logout until the sniper's ship or target has evaporated.
- Increased the diameter of all stations by 50%, HQ/Outpost kits by 100%.
- Cronos base in Tartarus is now stationary
- Tartarus grem moon ranges reduced
- Reduced generation interval on Vampyre Life Force Generator to 2.5 days
Fixes:
- AI with anti-farming tags that are supposed to drop keys or mission items every time have been fixed to drop their items every time. This effects Protoplasmica and roaming T21 bosses (this may require reset/changes on panel.
- Fixed Academy MRE Factory appearing in stations when it shouldn't
- Added the forgotten drone ops stat on the General Drone Ops Proficiency Augmenter
- Fixed a bug with Brute Force's behaviour
- Changed Dark Doom Shield - Reduced size to 245 at the cost of decreased regeneration (and thus decreased regeneration cost) - Reverted, doing something else for future patch
- Fixed an issue where Brute Force wouldn't always shoot back
- Reduced Brute Force's shield bank by just under 25%
- Fixed an issue with some (most of the Gunner) missiles not correctly applying their affects on targets other than drones/termite nests
- Fixed Titanium Foot giving a bonus to turning instead of thrust
- Fixed an issue with the Vazaha Culture 15 mission
- Fixed typo in the Nanotech Plating skill description
- Fixed a typo in a mission requirement (don't know what mission, it'll be in the Speeling Error thread)

Additions:
- Added sorting to a bunch of lists (vendible, team, squad, friends, skills, ships, missions, towing, trade properties).
- Added a sound after you log in (when you get to the character selection screen).
- TSL now has Transfer All option.
- New glow map for Lion.
- New texture for the Emperor's Crown and Kind Midas' ship.
Tweaks:
- Fixed an issue that broke text color.
- Some keybinding key/input improvements (handling and prioritization).
- Background music/sound effects now play at 50% while docked.
- Made the Massif line look really pretty and awesome.
- Improved the look of the Snowflake, fixed it's particle emitters.
- Reduced Laser resistance on Hephaestus Machine to 40%.
- Reduced the resistances on the Prawn (I forgot what to, either 25 or 35%).
- There are also changes on the Prawn's Claw, but field generators aren't getting patched at this time.
- Made Bubble Drone look a bit better (actually has a bubble now).
Fixes:
- Various crash and other fixes.
- Particles should now correctly inherit velocity when used on visages (ships, mainly).
- Fixed playing engine thruster sound while docked.
- Fixed some issues with option loading.
Also: Christmas!
This year's Christmas event features a very pretty improvement to the Lapland galaxy. There is also some fancy new holoprojectors (costumes) and the return of some long-lost AI! The event also features some new missions and a few other 'fun' things.
Note that this patch is a full client patch, with a partial server content patch, so a lot of code fixes that are server side changes won't come until next patch, it's also quite probable that I missed something off patch notes, or included something I shouldn't have. If I have done this, I apologize, it will be in next full patch notes, or added next full patch!

Additions:
- New visages for Thoraxes and MagCannons, as well as UrQa plasma weapons.
- Account global storage locker
- New "jump to" dialog in slave edit order, using a special version of the map to let you click on the target galaxy, instead of doing every galaxy 1 by 1. It also indicate if your jump chain is broken at some point and not looping properly.
- Laser are now 50% larger and have a bit more of a "punch" presence for the first 200ms
- Added T5 Proficiency Class and Proficiency Drone Augmenters, requiring level 1 in the respective skill.
- Added missions and tokens etc for the above.
- Method to obtain the Vampyre Life Force factory (mission).
Fixes:
- Fixed a bug causing ships to change when docking (at least i hope its fully fixed this time).
- Repair cost display fix for the case where more than one item in a stack were damaged.
- Fixed the bases not showing up in slave edit order.
- Fixed a client crash.
- Fixed the shutdown message to use timer notification.
- Made it so reconnecting will refresh your server shutdown notification.
- Fixed the repair cost desync with the client.
- Updated some skill descriptions to reflect what they actually give.
- Fixed an issue where Sniper Analysis was being calculated based on the wrong skill.
- Fixed population census display.
- Removed extra start base for one of the A38 pass card missions.
- Fixed typo in Ares' shout.
- Fixed various typos/layout problems in mission texts.
Tweaks:
- Slight particles rendering improvement (should improve fps by about 30% if your slowdown were the particles, namely in high action scenes with a lot of firing around), this is especially true for graphic level medium and low.

Fixes:
- Fixed a couple of engine mounts, added listing for Wingship II Pro in game_data/ships.xml
- Fixed a bug with deadliness score
- Fixed a bug where RadX could allow you to dock slaves that they should not have been able to capture.
- Rewrote worker appetite in way that do not lose precision with number (tested using 600,000,000 workers and 2,000,000 hydros and 300 workers with 1 hydro over 24hours with rations remaining perfectly stable). There is still a very small loss of precision on server restart, so it is recommended to use 299 workers for 1 hydro (just so that rations will pile up), although the precision loss is usually less than 1 ration per restart on a 300 worker scenario.
- Fixed an issue with the new loyalty score calculations, where too much score would be lost when a member left the team.
- Fixing trading score, to ignore the old stuff.
- Fixed a server crashed that could occur when admins tried to spawn AI via the command.
- Fixed Piracy 21 hard cap (training Piracy in Strontium-90 will now work
- Fixed a bug in the universe generation where wormhole visages in wild space would be set wrong
- Fixed a minor timer issue in Pretender Hermes scripting
- Fixed a bunch of hulls which were capable and shouldn't of been

Tweaks:
- Reworked the General page in stations to look a little better
- Made some changes to the login screen gal to improve look
- Reduced the volume on the Dialog Open/Dialog Close sounds by about 50%
- Various chat tweaks:
- PGUP/PGDN scroll the chat text while the input box is active.
- Stop the chat scroll bar popping up every time a new message arrives.
- Keep the chat scroll bar visible while the input box is active.
- Made it so that W4 shortcuts will inherit the pvp and premium limits from their end gals
- Blueprint tech limit for celestial gardens (tech 19)

- Exact chat commands are accepted even if they are prefixes of other commands
- Added chat commands /avoid and /avoidteam, for telling autopilot what galaxies/owning teams to avoid; Shift+Right Click on galaxy in map has same effect as /avoid
- Shift + (default Shift+V) activates autopilot to selected galaxy (on map)
- Galaxy map tooltip will state "No Valid Path" if none can be found for selected (clicked) galaxy
- Activating centered map will no longer set selected galaxy every time you jump
- Layer transition arrows on galaxies in Nexus and Celestial Garden layers now point the right way
- Autopilot trail is also shown in galaxy map (yellow)
- Layer transitions and shortcuts (Juxtaposition etc.) are shown for both trail types

- Changed sebastapols to reflect their old stats better (reduced speed, increased spread and spray, given them relative speed)
- Fixed Ambrosia Drones.
- Reduced the critical hit chance bonus on the Mzungu Cloak to 5%
- Nerfed Reaver Augmenter
- Changed the sun in The Dark to be easier to find.
- Gave the Absolution a superitem
- Beefed the Docking Scoop to have 50% Docking bonus
- Increased the size of Catapult projectiles, also gave them some particles to try and make them more visible
- Reverted the Hawk Claw (weapon) change that made the projectiles inherit velocity.
- Beefed Mobile Concealment drone a little bit.
- Marked the Plus item trader missions as premium only
- Added new Micro item trader missions for next uni.
- Moved Rumble 3 to Earthforce Space for next uni.
- Added Items Teleporters to the item list. When equiped, this allow you to transport items instantly over multiple jumps in team territory (see viewtopic.php?f=9&t=53650)
- RP Warship: Changed 20% resistance to transference to 20% vulnerability to transference
- All RP capital ships: Increased hull to 800 (warship: 790->800, carrier: 790->800, support cruiser: 750->800, logistics cruiser: 760->800)
Server
- Cannot warp to a no pvp gal for 60 seconds after commiting a hostile act.
- New team score system, as detailed in Dev Notes (viewtopic.php?f=9&t=53482) (only the score, not the skill/xp yet)
- Added the /nf command. Given a value between 1 (default) and 20 (extreme, do not use). This increase the delay between network updates from the server. To help on slower/less stable connections. the fastest updates is 100ms for new objects (like when you fire) and positions update close to you. the nf value multiply that timer, so if you use /nf 3, then that 100ms is now 300ms, giving more time for the server to combine data together, saving a little on bandwidth and a lot on network load. ** This value is not saved between server restarts but will remain between client restarts **
- For the first 5 secs after you connect, the network factor is automatically set to 5, to give a chance for your network to handle the load when in an heavy galaxy. After those 5 secs, the value is set back to your configured /nf value (default is 1)
- Selfdamage weapons (lion incinerators and the likes), will now self damage properly on multifiring (this mean 5x more self damage if you mf 5 lincin).
- Fix for workers not eating properly
- Fixed Displaying multiple (of same item) mission rewards

- Added a bit of a deadzone to the item tooltip movement detection, so that it should ignore accidental displacement (up to 25pixels)

- Patchbot now resume broken downloads automatically (old version was doing it, but not as well and much less efficiently).

Tweaks:
- Made it so that a Director can promote a councilor to take their place.
- Durability/repair system rework, no longer require any parts.
- Repairing mid-flight can be done for twice the cost, if you have not fired or been fired upon for 1 minute and are not moving. Doing so will cause you to receive a 10sec -100% shieldcharge/energyregen/thrust/turn.
- Dieing now cause credits to drop, worth about 70% of the total damage value. The drop is attached to the killer.
- Doubled the price on all Gear Glues. Gear Glue has been added to Metal Mining Inc. in Arena Lobby where you can sell any old Gear Glue you have left for it's original value. We will not refund if you sell to a different station and get less, nor if you accidentally buy any extra Gear Glue from this station. This will be removed at the end of next uni.
- Capture error now better prioritizes which error to give.
- New Galaxy Map loading code that should take less than 10 seconds to load fully. (That depend on your connection but should still be much faster).
- Removed the pointless "Use how many items?" dialog, it was buggy (extra item would often disappear) and had no useful function.
- Changed tractors to use smooth energy, instead of taking large chunks.
- Dropped Prismatic Conversion's tech level from 6 to 3 to better adjust for skill point cost changes awhile back.

- Added lagkiller support to the light manager to reduce/disable the light as it increase
- Added lagclipping part to the lagkiller. Essentially give the power to clip out less important things if they are further away from your ship (the more zoomed out you are, the more aggressive it is), things like nametag, team flag, thruster particles, get clipped off quite early if you are zoomed out to the max, they are far from you and your lagkiller is increasing.
- Added some more profiler precision.
- Added more power to the lagkiller to reduce the lag experienced by those who sent me profiler dumps (/dp).
- 5 new LKC values
- LKGPU_LIGHT: Reduce the number of rendered lights, when ratio>=1. disable the lights alltogether).
- LKGPU_LAGCLIP: Control how far from your ship non important effects will be displayed (flags, nametag, thruster image etc will be removed from rendering if they are too far, having the camera zoomed out also reduce the distance on screen, will always ignore your target.
- LKGPU_BILLBOARD: Control the clipping for some billboard effects (many weapons projectile, engines etc rely on those).
- LKGPU_PARTICLES: Control how many particles are rendered. The higher this value, the less particles will be on screen. Higher than 1.1 will disable all particles (not recommended).
- refraction: Controls the refraction bubble effects (warping, explosions etc) 0.2 should be enough for an intense fight.
- 5 new LKC values
- Added some code that reduce the ammount of flare particles depending on how many there is on screen (the actual maximum quantity depend on your graphic level and lagkiller particle variables).

Additions:
- Added failsafes to ensure the camera correct itself if it someone get set with out of bound values.
Expanded the AP text at the top by a bit so that when it wraps it won't get cut off.
- Added an attempt at freeing some gpu memory when running out (might not free much or even crash, unable to test reliably)
- Added faster gui rendering, this is what has been in beta for quite some time now, it is now a toggle. If your gui mess up when you enable it, you can press scroll lock to temporarily disable it and access your configs. (was already live)
- Smoothed the projectile firing code so that the bullet stream should be a lot more constant without depending as much on the server performance (still is affected by the server performance, but much less affected by slight spikes).
- Made it so that even if your rate of fire is faster than the server frame rate (hard cap of 10shots per second still exists (unrelated)), the server will create multiple projectiles in one frame to compensate and with the smoothed projectile, will also position them as if they were shot in between the 2 frames hence keeping the stream of bullets in a nicer shape. (up to 5 bullets can be shot in a single frame if the server is slow enough).
- Added Astral Travel to train in Lyceum. Ran across a old forum post where we had mentioned we'd add it. (Might not appear till next uni)

Additions:
- A new client command (/lkc) used to control different lagkiller values (only 3 non generic ones for now rmbg to control the background removal, slowgui to control the gui render speed and starbg to control the background stars quantity).
- Another new client command to allow you to save your /lkc /lkl /lku settings called /savecommands . It will open an edit box, you type in the commands you want the client to execute before starting (1 per line) and press ok, from there on, every time you restart your client those commands will be ran. Since those are ran before the connection to the server, you cant use those for server side commands or chat, only client side commands which are mostly limited to /lkl /lku and /lkc related commands.
- Added /fr to do a near instant reconnection (essentially forcing everything to reload from the server) (to help when suffering from desync)
- Added /record and /play to record and play stream from the game (it is still in development and has no guarantee to support the current file format. But basicly, using /record filename and /play filename you can generate/play a file that the client can reread to reproduce what you saw (or at least try to). These may break your client a lot, you may have to reinstall(?), you have been warned.
- Added support for editing objects on live for those with fancy powers (very basic but works, client may crash).

Easter 2012! Yes, it's that time of year again, Hot Cross buns and ressurection. Lent and rabbits.
This years Easter event hosts much of the same content as last years, Easter Bunny and Zombie Easter Bunny return along with their merry band of Eggbox Crates, but what else did they bring with them? I guess you'll have to play to find out!
