Wormholes (also known as warp gates), are the connection points between galaxies. You can navigate through them by pressing the "F" key or by double-clicking on a galaxy in the galaxy map for those with Astral Travel skill. There are nine different wormhole graphics for the most common wormholes that indicate what lies beyond the gate, not counting special cases (e.g. The Serengeti).

Some wormholes require a minimum of certain level in the Warp_Navigation skill to go through. The type of wormhole generally indicate what range of danger factor (abbreviated DF) the destination galaxy is in. For example, the black-and-white wormholes which require Warp Navigation 1 or higher lead to galaxies with a DF between 30 and 70. Because these wormholes require level 1 in Warp Navigation, these galaxies are also said to be in "W-1" space.

Besides the nine wormhole types described below, there are also some unique/special-case wormholes in the game. Examples include the gate to The Serengeti and the gate to the race track in Micron. The gate to The Serengeti requires level 4 in Warp Navigation.

0			Light purple in colour with white specks spiraling into the vortex. Leads to galaxies with a DG between 0 and 20, also known as W-0 space. On the map, these galaxies are green circles. Examples of galaxies these can lead to are Sol, Free Market and Paxius.
1			Black and white in colour with white specks spiraling into the vortex. Leads to galaxies with a DG between 30 and 70, also known as W-1 space. On the map, these galaxies are blue circles. Examples of galaxies these can lead to are Micron, Rumble and Lavanite.
2			Rainbow-coloured with white specks spiraling into the vortex. Leads to galaxies with a DG between 80 and 120, also known as W-2 space. On the map, these galaxies are red circles. Examples of galaxies these can lead to are Underworld, Vervaardiger Processing and Rumble 2.
3			Yellow and very light yellow in colour with white specks spiraling into the vortex. Leads to galaxies with a DG between 80 and 120, also known as W-3 space. On the map, these galaxies are fuchsia pink circles. Examples of galaxies these can lead to are Iq' Bana, Rumble Mumble and Lunacy.
3			Grey-coloured clouds spiralling into the center. The center is a bright white light. Leads to Subspace.
4			Dark and light green in colour with white specks spiraling into the vortex. Leads to Juxtaposition.
4			Blue/cerulean clouds spiralling into the center. The center is a bright cyan light. Leads to Concourse.
0			Red and blood red in colour with white specks spiralling into the vortex. Leads to a dungeon galaxy (abbreviated DG).
0			Red and blood red in colour with white specks spiraling into the vortex. Overlayed with a light-grey lattice-like texture that travels inwards the vortex. Leads to dungeon galaxies (abbreviated DG). These are locked and cannot be entered without using a particular item from your ship's inventory to unlock it. They are otherwise idential to their unlocked variant.
