Tractor beams are very useful and can help capture ships and tow people. You can train tractoring to level one in warp one and above, and to level 5 in [[Deflector]].  Tractoring is available to level 12 in [[Empathy Field]] which can only be entered with your engine unequipped. You can have a friend tractor you to the [[wormhole]] or you can build a [[secret cache]] on the wormhole or you can send a slave into empathy field (slaves can go in and out with an engine) and hitch a lift on the slave with a tractor beam.
