The Perfect Vacation Spot... for a space cougar... Bonnet... Its docile name conceals its true, fierce nature. Beware entering this domain for fear of never returning, once you jump in you have to obtain a Basil Bouquet (or use one you already have) to get out.The Weather and Inhabitants
Bonnet is mostly a low visibility galaxy filled with Basil and Parsley AI that will attempt to kill you as soon as you enter, as well as some Bulk Trader II AI which mind their own business for the most part. All of the wormholes out of the Bonnet main galaxy are surrounded by 4 Pirating Drones and 4 Advanced Pirating Drones. There is a large base, far from the entrance which is surrounded by 8 Advanced Pirating Drones as well as two hidden bases. One hidden base, Bonnet Hideout, is located 800 clicks away from the middle sun (it's very low visibility, so park at 800 and wait for it to appear; you may see some bulk traders docking). Bonnet Hideout can sometimes be found sitting next to Roma.
The Sights
Inside Bonnet, there are two side galaxies that are the lairs of two notorious villains, Stede Bonnet and McCoy, who each drop a weapon (weak), a blueprint for their ship, the unique commodity to build their ship, and random DG loot from their loot table. Bonnet is also the target of a series of missions that ultimately leads to the Warden.
Interesting Facts
- Bonnet was initially at the edge of warp 2, frequently close to warp 1, and the source of much grief / hilarity on the ALL channel. Players would explore inside, instantly get ganked by the drones and then have to beg on ALL for rescue. This occurred frequently enough to cause more experienced players amusement.
- Advanced pirating drones were initially cappable. They no longer are - but their lower cousins are.
