The scourge of the universe, termites are despised by all base-builders. Originally created to eliminate low-leveled [[base]]s (as they have been reported to cause lag), it is not uncommon for termites to assault higher-leveled [[base]]s. Their armies, spawned from a simple [[termite mound]], wreak havoc on entire star systems. Many a [[base]] fell to these insatiably hungry pests.

[[Termite Mound]]s periodically evolve, growing another "arm" which can create even more termites. It is even rumored that powerful mounds carry a fearsome array of [[Adonis gear]]. Combined with their personal termite guards, mounds are incredibly difficult to destroy.

Yet even mound and every infestation has a simple beginning - they are created, deadly armies and all, by a simple [[termite larva]]. These miniscule, hard-to-see creatures wander from galaxy to galaxy until they see a place they would like to set their mound in. And thus, the system is "infected".

It should be noted that termite larvae are immune to all damage types except for [[surgical]]. Players attempting to own a galaxy should always search for termites. Their mounds, although lurking up to 15K from any one wormhole (depending on actual distance), are nonetheless very easy to see. However, actual destruction of mounds should be left up to higher-leveled players.
