Items include Augmenters, Aura Generators, Blueprints, Base Gear, Commodities, Engines, Energy Generators, Radars, Scoops, Shields, and Tractors.

Items can be acquired in a number of ways: from killing AI, by buying them from an AI or player Station or Base, by manufacturing them yourself using Blueprints, or by completing Missions.

Almost all Items take up space and have weight. Some items, like Inbuilt Items (Items that come pre-equipped on a ship), may not take up space. Equipped Augmenters do not take up space, either. The number of Items a ship can hold is limited by the size of the ship and the size of the Items onboard. A ship's Agility and Thrust are affected by the weight of the ship, so heavier Items will make it harder to turn and accelerate.
