The Junkyard Missions lets players exchange unwanted items for items that they deem better. Usually these items have good value for the potential credits lost during the exchange, but have other drawbacks for balancing reasons.

'''The Junkyard''' is a system run by Creaky the Robot, in exchange for DG loot, you can receive [[Junkyard Scrapnote|Junkyard Scrapnotes]] to be used in exchange for various pre-made base kits that come with gear, base commodity extractors that extract half as fast as normal extractors, junkyard hydroponics and station extensors. All of these cannot be removed from a base once transferred, are very cheap and are sometimes downgrades to normal counterparts (such as the commodity extractors being half as fast but very cheap, or the hydroponics, none of which produce as many Space Oats as a normal Hydroponics).

Every item you can obtain from The Junkyard, or mission chains that starts in The Junkyard, have some sort of mechanic that makes them disposable, meaning that the item will not be permanent. It either means the item is sticky, you can’t scoop it, it is a missile or a tweak, or the fighter does not return to the ship after you have launched it.

You can also unlock a set of missions that will offer you [[Neurotweaks#Junkyard Tweaks|Junkyard Tweaks]], many of which can be very useful.
