AI Outposts are pillboxes that are randomly spread out around the universe after a Universe Reset. There are two types of AI outposts, with several variations. The first types belong to the Bule, Faranji, Vazaha and Mzungu races. They are neutral until you attack them. The second type of AI outposts however are not neutral and will attack you on sight. They belong to the Greens, a race of mutated Mzungu, the Icepicks and lastly the UrQa. Upon spotting you, the outposts will launch several fighters and begin attacking you.
Small AI Outposts will sometimes drop Base Gear Blueprints on death, while Large AI Outposts will drop a piece of Wreckage on death, which can be turned in at Sol for Earthforce Defence Tokens.
Note: there's a bug with the generation of AI outposts which cause several outposts of the same kind to appear on top of each other rather than just one.

Small AI Outposts
Bule Bases
Bule Outposts utilize a Bule Trans-Dim Station Laser and a Bule Mentality. If you're too close to it, it will fire at you with it's short range Bule Mentality, doing considerably more damage than it's laser, at around 2800 DPS, and will do damage to itself, effectively halving it's shield regeneration. If you're out of range of it's Bule Mentality, it will continuously hit you with it's Bule Trans-Dim Station Laser, a long range (2000 range) surgical-type ethereal laser, doing around 1000 DPS, so if you're going to retreat away from it, you'll want to leave the star system rather than try to get out of range of it's laser.

Mzungu Bases
Vazaha Bases
Vazaha outposts have a tendency to heal other nearby outposts with it's Vazaha Station Transference, healing at around 4000 HPS. Because of this, you'll want to take it out first to avoid having it heal other outposts. When fighting it, you'll want to stay out of range of it's Vazaha Station Shotgun, with 300 range and 2100 DPS.
Large AI Outposts
Super Variations
Sometimes you'll find a Super variation of a Large AI Outpost, these ones are considerably more powerful and are often accompanied by normal outposts.

Pirate Hideouts
Green Meanie Bases
Green Meanie Bases will, on seeing you, launch multiple Big Green fighters. Their magcannons also cause forced turning on impact.
Upon being destroyed, a Green Meanie Base will drop a Green Meanie Base Wreckage.
