I think by now, we all know that bvb is slow, tedious, and easily cheeseable for the most part. Here, I'll try to lay out some ideas on how to fix these issues. 1) Increase the max speed of most bases (Hotrods, Hermes kits don't need the buff). As it is, one reason why bvb is incredibly slow is because of how slow bases are. Most non-special kits go 6-8 speed. This is an incredibly slow process for moving bases into position. 2) Give attackers a speed boost for assaulting a galaxy. This addresses the problem of bvb being cheesy by outrunning the attacker's kits. The attacker also has to wait roughly 10 minutes to begin moving due to the massive vulnerability they get upon first being laid. 3) Reduce the time of amps finishing from 3 days to maybe a day and a half. If amps are meant to be a credit sink, there's no reason for them to be a massive time sink either. 4) Give attackers a timer in the "/baseslots" command to tell them a countdown of when their 24 hour timer is up (this would be a massive qol improvement to things such as bvbing ai empires for territory). 5) Make lockdown happen the moment the attacker lays kits. There's realistically no reason not to. Especially when the defender has the advantage of counting the number of amps in the adjacent system(s). 6) On the inverse side of that, make it so if the attacker loses a kit, they cannot lay any additional kits during the siege. This makes it so the attackers cannot buy time by running out and waiting an hour before dropping more kits. This also strongly discourages attackers from drop vanilla t1-20 kits to cheese lockdown against the defenders. These ideas are obviously not final, they're just ideas to get the ball rolling for future revamps.

Yes but also finally adjust the scaling of combat time. No one should have to take a day off work to bvb. 12 hours battles should not be the norm. Adjust speed and damage and overall gal assault scaling so 2 to 3 hour battles are norm, maybe 4 at max. Given some of our bvbs had 6 to 8 hours spent just on chasing down kits, this shouldnt be hard to do.

I think what we need is a larger rework of the entire system. This suggestion doesn’t address the issue of lag and it doesn’t address the issue that bvbs are becoming too large. I believe that the defender should have an advantage over the attacker and if lockdown starts as soon as attackers lay I think that removes some advantage from the defender.
