Shields

Shields have two important features: bank and regeneration. Bank is the amount of damage that can be absorbed before destruction, regeneration is how fast shields replenish. Obviously, having both good values is important, but there are specialist shields that have huge banks but little regeneration (eg Ghoulstop) or very small banks and extremely quick regeneration (eg Biowall). Be aware, the higher the regen, the higher the electrical costs.

• TL is the Tech level in Shielding skill required to use the shield.
• Bank is the amount of damage the shield can sustain before you die.
• Reg is the amount that the shield regenerates per unit of Time.
• Time is the increment of time in seconds that between ticks of recharge.
• Reg Elec is the amount of energy used each time the shield regenerates. This energy is only used when the shield is regenerating, and not when the shield is at full.
• Elec is the amount of energy used periodically when the shield is equipped.
• Vis is the amount of visibility added to your ship when the shield is equipped.
• Regneration RPS is the amount of shield regeneration per second, a key stat for comparison.
• Regneration EPS is the amount of elec per second used to regenerate
• Total EPS is the total amount of elec per second used to regenerate and run the shield.
• Spd is the modifier to your ship's speed when the shield is equipped.
• Full Recharge Time is the amount of time it takes the shield to fully charge on its own.
