Physical is one of the 7 damage types. Physical weapons are often represented by grey or purple projectiles. They push your ship back when shot, and when the projectile hits another AI or person, it also pushes them back.

Snipers get large damage bonuses to Physical and use Physical type weapons to great effect on all but the Earthforce Capital Ships as a result of their large physical resistances.

A critical hit from a physical weapon damages your ship's guidance thrust engines, forcing you to spin out of control for a few seconds (feels a lot longer)
