Diplomas and Mentions for Blueprints

These missions take you across the universe in a wild goose chase for the A38 Passcard. You must try to figure out where the cashiers are that can help you obtain and complete the required paperwork.

The Lyceum

The Lyceum is a place of science and philosophy. You can come in, as a student,

Serengeti

Requires level 1000 to open

Introduction

The first mision requires a level 1000 character to start it.

Location: Lyceum, Lyceum

  • Agent: Xenocrates 3000
  • Mission: The Zebra Armada
The Zebra Armada

"Simon, it is under very dire circumstances that I must tell you this!" says Xenocrates 3000.
"It seems someone has finally opened the gateway to the galaxies of the universe's mortal enemy, the Zebra Armada!
Those who opened the path have no idea of what they have done, none at all."
Xenocrates 3000 starts pacing about the room frantically.
"This does not bode well for any of the inhabitants of the entire universe!" Xenocrates 3000 stops and looks in your direction,
obviously sensing your puzzlement. "You do not know of the Zebra Armada?! I suppose you would not,
they were sealed away long ago, and much of what we knew about them was lost.
Perhaps I should enlighten you and explain the dangerous ramifications of opening the gate,
ones that could lead to the destruction of all other civilized life in the universe!"
Xenocrates 3000 begins pacing again, this time even faster.
"Before I tell you this, I want to make sure you understand the harsh reality of the situation ...
and now that I think of it, this is the perfect oppertunity to have a Field Researcher collect data on the Zebra Armada.
The information in our databanks is quite dated. We will need new strategies to combat this dastardly foe!"
Xenocrates 3000 quickly walks over to you, grabs your shoulders and looks you in the eyes.
"Simon, you must enter the Zebra territories, the universe is in desperate need!"

* Experience given.
* Reward: Honorary Diploma

Summary
Explore the Serengeti for Xenocrates 3000.
Your sensor logs will prove extremely valuable in finding strategies to counter the Zaphragi threat!

Location: Lyceum, Lyceum

  • Agent: Xenocrates 3000
  • Mission: The Zebra Armada
The Zebra Armada

"Judging from the energy burns and blast marks, I can see you finally met the Zebra Armada...
the Zaphragi are a very fearsome race indeed, are they not?
Now I am sure you understand why we had to lock them away so long ago... If only the portal to their realm had not been opened!"
Xenocrates 3000 walks over to a computer console in the room. "While you were engaging the Zebra Armada,
I contacted the Paxians, Earthforce, and even the Merchant's Guild to make them aware of the situation.
Obviously we have a threat that is even greater than that of the murderous UrQa.
They have been mainly dormant in recent years, but I assure you, the Zebra Armada will not... "
He calls you over to the computer console and begins searching the Lyceum data-archive.
"Kilrathi ... Shofixti ... Ah! Here we go, the Zaphragi.
As you can see the data we have collected on them is extremely dated and extremely limited, by our standards at least.
After their last invasion it was of paramount importance that we contain them, so there was very little time for research.
You see, the Zaphragi are a humanoid marsupial race with a very low maturation time, and a strong desire to mate.
Due to this fact, they are in a perpetual state of population expansion.
They use up the resources of a planet in excess of fifty times that of a normal humanoid species!
Eventually during the youth of their race, they used up most of the resources on their homeworld,
they could no longer support their population. They began to slowly die of starvation, disease and overcrowding.
It was then a strong military goverment took control and began the reckless Zaphragi expansionism!
Before long, all the worlds that had contact with the Zaphragi were conqured and colonized, their native populations massacred!
It took only a few years before they had settled on every habital planet in their sector.
Even with this newfound territory, the Zebra Armada realized that they needed even more planets to sustain their population
which was already in the hundreds of billions, it was then they found the wormhole that lead to our sector of space.
You can only imagine the war that ensued,
and the eventual Zaphragi defeat which lead to them being imprisioned in their own sector of space!
We must defeat them again, or they will attempt to conquer us all!
I will offer what help I may, and I have received word that Earthforce and Paxius will help as well.
The Zebra Armada and the Zaphragi must and will be stopped!"

Zebra, Panther and Rhino

Panther

Location: Lyceum, Lyceum

  • Agent: Xenocrates 3000
  • Mission: The Panther
The Panther

"The Zaphragi Panther is a very deadly light fighter.
Piloted by members of the Royal Guard sworn to protect the Zaphragi Princess...
tsk, fanatical devotion makes combatting them even more dangerous!
It says in our data-archive one of the main tatics used by Panther
pilots during the first Zaphragi conflict was one of stealth and misdirection.
They would lie in wait and ambush enemies with an all out attack that could quickly decimate foes!
Hmm.. there is also a note here that the Royal Guard will store excess power and transfer it to their princess in times of need,
giving her personalized ship a combat advantage! Yes Simon,
if you are to combat the Zaphragi piloting this ship it would be wise to separate the guard from the princess,
assuming our data is still useful of course." Xenocrates 3000 turns away from his computer console and faces you.
"I wish you the best of luck Simon, this is not an easy task that you are taking on."

* Credits given: 50000000
* Experience given.
* Reward: Unclean Imperial Seal

Summary
Find and destroy the Princess, Ragitagha Kilrathi.

Location: Lyceum, Lyceum

  • Agent: Xenocrates 3000
  • Mission: The Panther
The Panther

"You have toppled one of the Zebra Armada's primary pillars!
Without the Zaphragi princess, the Panther wings should be significantly weakened.
The power of morale is a most important one in any battle and without the princess,
their morale must have been crushed! Hmm... Based on preliminary observations,
it seems that this blow to the Zaphragi has also weakened
their defenses enough that you can penetrate deeper into their space!
Perhaps taking the offensive was the proper course of action.
Regardless, take this, it is a very special item preserved from the last Zaphragi War.
It seems best that you have it."

Zebra

Location: Lyceum, Lyceum

  • Agent: Sky Marshal Phelps
  • Mission: The Zebra
The Zebra

"Suprised to see an Earthforce Sky Marshal here, aren't you Simon?
This threat is an urgent matter and we have brough all the information in the Earthforce Databanks regarding the Zaphragi.
Hell, we even raised the Earthforce security level to Fire Truck Red!
You see, Earthforce played a key role in the first Zaphragi War,
we held the Zebra Armada at bay while Lyceum finally found a way to finish them and lock them in their own region of space.
It really burns me that we couldn't detain the Cult of Mastadonte before they found a way to open that gate.
So much is at stake, so it's good we have a guy like you working on taking down the Zebra Armada."
Sky Marshal Phelps gives you a hearty slap on the back.
"Anyway, according to the Earthforce Databank, the Zebra heavy fighter is a fairly fast and heavily armored ship.
They can strike fearsome physical attacks from both short and long range, and in general should not be taken lightly.
It also says here that even being in the presence of the Zaphragi Prince
grants a very strong defensive boost to his personal guards.
It would be wise to be careful if you are going in to take him down, and we really could use a victory in this new confrontation.
Taking down the Zaphragi Prince should disrupt the entire Zebra Armada long enough for us to send in more recon teams.
Good Luck Simon, and when you make it back, Earthforce would be honored to have you as part of our forces."

* Credits given: 50000000
* Experience given.
* Reward: Unclean Imperial Seal

Summary
Find and destroy the Prince, Sutaghi Kilrathi.

Location: Lyceum, Lyceum

  • Agent: Sky Marshal Phelps
  • Mission: The Zebra
The Zebra

"Amazing Simon! You did it! The Zaphragi Prince has been destroyed.
Intel from our scouts says the Zebra Armada
is taking up defensive positions in another sector of their space.
You know that that means?!
It means they're not as cocky as they were when they started this latest offensive!
They know that we've advanced just as much as they have since the first
conflict and now they're reconsidering their strategies.
It also means we opened up a hole in their forward lines,
and we can go deeper into their terrorities, take even more of the fight to them!
Simon, I think you've earned this!
It's a relic from the Zaphragi War and very rare, but you deserve it!"

Rhino

Location: Lyceum, Lyceum

  • Agent: Govanon
  • Mission: The Rhino
The Rhino

"We Paxians are rather new to this universe, so the knowlege we possess on the Zebra Armada is very limited.
In fact, we had yet to travel here when the first struggle against the Zaphragi took place.
We have however dedicated time to exploring their sectors, and learning all we can about this fearsome warrior race.
Marco Colombus has been able to reach the Lake Manyara, deep in the Zaphragi sector,
and we will share the data he has collected on the Zaphragi Rhino.
It seems that this is a combat freighter, very similar to what we use in our travels, and a very capable one indeed.
Ah yes! Marco also was able to obtain information on the High Vizar of the Zaphragi, nar Qarg!"
Govanon thumbs a button on his holopad. "It appears that he will be a very difficult foe at close range,
and he travels with a very large complement of guards.
Perhaps if you could seperate him from his guards and attack him at long range, you could overcome him.
Simon, we have fought the UrQa for eons in many different dimensions, and even they have never posed a threat this great.
I can only hope we can fell their invasion fleet before it is too late."

* Credits given: 50000000
* Experience given.
* Reward: Unclean Imperial Seal

Summary
Find and destroy the High Vizir, nar Qarg.

Location: Lyceum, Lyceum

  • Agent: Govanon
  • Mission: The Rhino
The Rhino

"Simon, take this item, it is one that Marco Colombus found during his expedition into Zaphragi space.
It is only fitting that we reward you for your efforts in protecting this universe from an enemy so full of malice!
It would seem this blow has also had a crippling effect for the Zebra Armada as well.
The High Vizir was in command of all shipping and supply convoys, and without his leadership,
many of his subcommanders are now unable to execute the complex administration involved with this task.
Hopefully this will spell the beginning of the end for their invasion,
we can only hope that these malignant beings are stopped before they have the chance to destroy all that has been created here."

The Lion

The Lion

Location: Lyceum, Lyceum

  • Agent: Sky Marshal Phelps
  • Mission: The Lion
The Lion

"Good you see you again Simon." says Sky Marshal Phelps.
"The attacks you have led against the Zebra Armada has crippled most of their fleet,
and with their defenses down we can finally work on planning a strike on their Emperor!
I'm getting a bit ahead of myself, there is still another vital
Zaphragi Fleet commanded by the Lion King, Khan Kilrathi.
If we are going to make any attempt at toppling their Emperor,
we must disable the Lion Fleet first!
King Kilrathi is found in the Searing Rift a very dangerous region in the Zaphragi sectors.
This area contains some extremely volatile and dangerous spacial rifts and our
intel tells us that unless you stay in the shadow of the Red Giant there,
the gravitational flux of these instabilites will tear your ship apart!
To make matters worse, I found a note in the databanks concerning a special
ability that the Lion King uses in the Zaphragi War!
Aparentally he has the ability to project decoy copies of himself!
This is going to be a tough fight Simon, but we need to take the Lion King down.
Good Luck Simon, you're gonna need it."

"Simon, the way is clear for a direct attack on the Zaphragi Emperor!
If we manage to take him out their entire civilization will be thrown into chaos,
and we can attempt to reseal the gateway that allowed them to return in the first place!
You may not know this, but during the aftermath the Guardian of the Lyceum
was created to help protect our space from another incursion by the the Zaphragi.
I really wonder how the Cult of the Mastodonte managed to weaken him enough that they could open that gateway..
With the Paxians, Lyceum and Earthforce, the final push should prove successful.
Make sure to get back here, we'll want you to lead the assault!"

"The final battle is before you Simon", says Xenocrates 3000. "It is on the Emperor's Peak that you must behead the Zaphragi,
only then will they lose the will to continue their attacks into our space."
Sky Marshall Phelps cuts in. "Simon's Second Sight, Earthforce recon has located the Zaphragi Emperor,
but scouts are unable to reach him. That means there is very little we can tell you about him currently.
Even after searching the Lyceum data-archives and the Earthforce databanks,
I'm afraid we can't offer any details on him.
It appears that during the first Zaphragi war we never encountered an Imperial Capital Ship.
Govonan, what about your Paxian scouts?" Govanon replies. "Even with our advanced scanning technologies,
we have been unable to learn anything of intrest.
Most of our scans are reflected from the area that the Emperor was rumored to reside."
Sky Marshal Phelps begins again. "Simon's Second Sight, we hate to send you in blind,
but we can't let the Zaphragi regroup, this attack must come now. Good Luck"

The Aftermath

"The destruction of the Mastadonte was not unexpected!
The final stand of the elite Zaphragi forces enabled the remainder of their battered fleet to escape
the Emperor's Peak and collapse the wormhole behind them."

"It is the will of the War Council not to pursue them further to their homeworld.
The blow dealt to the Empire is enough to plunge the troubled Zaphragi people into decades of turmoil, perhaps even a civil war.
And attempting to re-establish the gateway so deep inside an undeveloped and inhospitable region
would put further strain on our resources, already limited by this war."

"Instead, our newly founded research station has been tasked with examining and understanding Zaphragi relics.
Despite their preoccupation with war and violence, and general unwillingness to have peaceful exchanges with other races,
the Zaphragi extended their natural cunning to science and technology with some outstanding results!"

"Help us understand our enemy, Simon!"

Simon, how do you feel about research?
Yes, indeed it is a necessary part of the learning process,
and we here at Lyceum would like you to perform some for us.
During our studies of various manuscripts we have learned much,
but there is more we need to know about a few creatures,
races, criminals and eccentric scientists.
Since we are engrossed in our pursuit of learning all to be learned here,
we have little time to leave our facilities and conduct field research,
and with that said we would like you to conduct these studies for us.
Do you think you are ready to further the collective knowledge of mankind Simon?

Why, Simon, we had no idea what we were having you do,
and we are most sorry for putting you through it... still...
I think we've learned quite a bit from the data you recovered...
perhaps we could use you to get data from them again?
I mean, it would be quite difficult for us if those lifeforms were as utterly destructive as you say..
OK! NO NEED TO GET UPSET Simon, I guess we'll leave it at simply that.

This of course would be a great issue to us here! The readings suggest this new wormhole, if there is one;
is close by and currently we don't know what's on the other side!" Archimedes 9000 pauses as he thinks over what their course of action should be.

"Hummm, Simon. Go out west of Olympus and see what you can find out for us and report back here, beware there maybe all sorts of things out there!"

As you have already seen, these pretenders are more formidable than we initially suspected.
We’ve setup this forward research base to better understand their technologies.

I’m not as narrow minded as some of my Lyceum based counterparts, you see. They’re blinded by fervor, and wish only for destruction.
I hope to use the technology of these pretenders, and turn it into something truly magnificent!

To start my research, I require a fragment of each of their ships.

Mission Text
"By Zeus! This is an affront to all held holy here in the Lyceum!"

"Simon, have you heard of the Thrones of Olympus? What?! Have you at least heard of Olympus?! Hmmmph.
For someone so eager to access our technologies I would have imagined you would have at least -- glanced -- over our histories.

"Anyway. Eons ago our ancestors on Terra worshipped a council of Gods; a kind of dodekatheon if you would like.
These twelve Gods ruled from the sacred mount of Olympus and our people flourished under their watchful eyes.
Eventually we grew to no longer need them yet their presence had become part of our cultural identity and even to this day do we honor them.

"Yes, the twelve seated on magnificent thrones atop Mount Olympus;
Zeus, Hera, Demeter, Poseidon, Hades, Aphrodite, Apollo, Ares, Artemis, Athena, Dionysis, Hermes and Hephaestus!
These names hold a reverent place in our thoughts still... so to hear they've returned?
It has surely caused quite a stir amongst us.

"Simon if you would, go to Olympus and verify or refute these rumors. Make haste, this is of paramount importance to us!"
Completion Text
"I see... This is nothing short of sacrelege! These are not our Gods... They're... Alien entities simply -- pretending?!
Why they do little more than sully the great names of our Gods! This insolence... it's -- why it's -- outrageous!

"Simon, this mockery mustn't continue even another second. Perhaps you can help us... Mete justice upon these -- blasphemers."

You could travel there and mete justice upon him... and on his terms.
The humiliation before he draws his final breath will be complete when he
realizes his paltry power is no match for the might of the one, true Ares!

"Be careful Simon. No doubt he plans on using cowardly tactics and trickery!
You accept this challenge alone! Assemble your allies and fill his arena with his own blood!"

"God of War? His downfall is proof enough that his words were false.
This liar deserved the death he found.
The true Ares would have never fallen for he is a master of his craft!
War is his art, one painted in blood on the sand.
Surely you have honored Ares with your masterpiece!

"Take this shard. It will sever to us as proof of your heroic deeds this glorious day!

"May the God's favor shine upon you throughout your travels!"

"The time has come to throw the heathen Zeus from his throne atop Olympus!

"Too long has he mocked the Olympians with his lies and blasphemy!
Simon, we need someone to show this pretender just how futile his claims are!
We need someone to show him how paltry his powers are!
We need someone to smite him in the name of the only true King of Gods, Zeus!

"But be warned Simon, though a pretender he may be, his powers are vast.
It would not be wise to ignore this.
Even with the blessing of the true Gods the battle will be fierce and you may suffer loss.
But Simon, I am confident you will prevail!

"Go now with the Gods' blessing and do what must be done!"
