Commodities (abbreviated commods) are the backbone of commerce in Star Sonata. Commodities always take up 1 hull space each but their weight can vary drastically.

Common Commodities

These commodities are easily found throughout the universe. Most AI bases stock them and most can be extracted from planets and moons, or mined from asteroids.

Built Commodities

Some commodities are built from other commodities. The following are the most common ones:

Rare Extracted commodities

There are a number of rare extractable commodities. Often these are quite valuable and are required for some high-end construction.

Typically these are loosely categorized into three "tiers" based on what quantities they appear in: Tier 3 appear only as smidgen (1-2 extractors), Tier 2 occur in as much as "a bit" (5-8), and Tier 1 occur up to "lots" (up to 32).

Tier 3: Energon, Dark Matter, Frozen Blobs, Adamantium, Rubicite, Platinum, Ablution Crystals, and Bacta

Tier 2: Diamonds, Quantumum, Alien Bacteria, Enriched Nuclear Material, Fermium, Laconia, Plasma Crystals and Gold.

Tier 1: Petroleum, Vis, Jelly Beans, Copper, Tin, Silver, Titanium, and Psion Icicles.
