An Aura Generator is an item that, when equipped, emits tweaks on nearby ships, generally good tweaks on friendly ships and negative tweaks on enemies.

Note that "cycle" is how frequently an aura applies a buff/debuff, the "duration" is how long that buff/debuff lasts. The "delay" is how long it takes for the aura to take effect, subtracted from the duration. An aura that provides a buff every 25 seconds, with a delay of 22.5 seconds and a duration of 25 seconds, will actually only apply the buff for 2.5 seconds during the end of the 25 second cycle. An aura with no delay and a duration longer than the cycle is effectively continuous.
 
 
 
Auras stack additively with tweaks, and multiplicatively with all other stat boosts. If two different auras both affect the same stat, the stronger aura wins, and any remaining non-overlapping stats on either aura are applied normally.
