When two [[teams]] declare [[war]], a number of different things occur. Firstly, all [[bases]], [[drones]], and players of one team become [[aggro|aggressive]] towards the other. Secondly, the [[Player Vs Player|PVP]] range is increased, meaning some players that previously could not attack each other due to range restrictions now can. Thirdly, declaring war on another team means that [[owned]] [[galaxies]] can easily be taken over, thereby allowing one team to expand its territory (at the risk of losing its own, of course).

Because of this most teams avoid it. However, there have been many large wars in [[Star Sonata]] history, some of which rendered entire chains of galaxies dead and deserted. Sometimes war is unavoidable, and if the Director of a team decides that it is necessary, he will require the [[War Mongering]] skill to do so.
