Wild bots are unable to engage their Stasis generators, and so will be permanently destroyed on death if not docked and converted into a standard combat bot.
However, there are advantages to keeping wild bots 'wild' - a wild bot will continue to multifire as it did as an AI ship, and wild bot slots are separate from combat bot slots. Standard combat bots are unable to multifire by default, and require a multifiring Controlbot, an augmenter that allows multifiring, or its owner to be a multifiring class such as a Berserker or Gunner. Because wild bot slots are separate, a player can simultanously use wild bots and standard combat bots for additional firepower - especially to the benefit of Fleet Commanders, who have increased combat stats for wild bots.
Some Wild Bots are only capturable by a Fleet Commander Class that is trained in the appropriate level of Radiation Expert - Radiation Expert 1 allows control of ships up to Tech 7, level 2 allows control of ships up to Tech 14, and level 3 allows control of ships up to Tech 20. Unlike conventionally capturable bots, radex-only wild bots cannot be docked, meaning they are susceptible to permanent destruction on death, and the player is unable to interact with their inventories.
