A protected galaxy has to be Owned by a team. This team protects the galaxy, which means attacking anyone in this galaxy is forbidden, even killing AIs is breaking the peace. If you shoot somebody in a protected galaxy, you become an enemy of the team that is protecting it. Only shooting at space rats is tolerated. Protected Galaxies have a black capital "P" in the Galaxy Map.

Protecting a galaxy now requires a total of 15 billion population total in the galaxy, and Officers and above can protect galaxies.
