C2 has WAY less players. I know one of you, Jeff or Adum or Calypso have an old C1 client that could be started up again. Bring back the good ol' days! Even if its a shitty server!
There use to be Liquid.starsonata.com and test.starsonata.com Why cant the test server become an actual client 1 server? OR SOMETHING... You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post. |

Even if it were possible to start up C1, it would have to be a copy from before C2 was released, all of the changes done since then would be gone, all the optimizations, content additions and changes, etc. In addition, the player database wouldn't work on it either I believe. Furthermore, it would mean that SS would have to operate two live servers, support both, perform development on both and so on. It's not viable even if it were possible and it would split the player base in two. Even other games that have tried to do a similar thing when they released newer clients ended up having to drop support for the older obsolete client eventually because there is simply too much overhead.
If there's things you dislike in C2 or you feel that there's room for improvement then your best bet would be to create a detailed suggestion about it and if it's widely received and the development team believes that it can be done then it's possible it could be implemented. TLDR: C2 is here to stay and SS is an evolving game that can and will be made better. |

If the graphics and sounds where the same as C1 I don't think anyone would have a problem with C2 tbh.

Fixes takes way to long, ticket reports also takes way to long (had 1 for 4 months before it finally got a response while I informed an admin about the ticket). I all the shit gets fixed faster with those new devs working on stuff. The reason we get Soon(tm) is because they are donating whatever spare time they have to develop this game, which will obviously vary on a weekly basis. That goes the same with the support team, Dia and Voom have other things going on in their lives and can only donate whatever spare time they've got to answering tickets, then reporting to Jeff / Dev team and finally resolving the issue. |
