However, if you are referring to the basils when playing on a level 500 alt, please tell us what class your alt is and what ship it flies.

Thats what I use and I can defeat a MF Basil. I didn't say anywhere that they were undefeatable, however, I doubt you will be going into an MF basil DG any time soon to level off them. The point is that they are much harder than AI of the same level. Also, why do you only use two augs on a cele? It has slots for 3.

I removed the Wattage and Flicker at the last moment as I wasnt satisfied. Sorry i should have made some notification.
They will both be in for next uni along with 2 new members of the Hive family (1 being obtainable).

I don't level on them anymore, as Seraphs die fast to laser and I can level quickly off of them, but a MF Basil is no sweat.

Being a player is pretty much needed to be a good dev since you need good knowledge to create good content and good features. Jeff can also not make any demands like that since he isnt paying his devs.

Re: Where are we (the devs) dropping the ball?
It's his game yes but he needs devs and admins to help him. If they where not allowed to play the game at all they would lack the needed knowledge to actually do their job and most of them would simply quit which means no devs/admins which means no SS.
But yeah, you are totally allowed to have your own opinion.

Re: Where are we (the devs) dropping the ball?
Another thing that aggravates me is the blatant lack of damage types for high tech drones. It was not a big deal when you could lay 10 Mzungu Mining Defenders, or 15 Mining Drones, but now you have to settle for 6 MMDs that fire for a few seconds. There aren't any tech 20 mining drones, surg drones(ambush don't really count, seriously.), radiation drones, and some actual drones that use lasers all the time. You don't even have to use t20 weapons on them. Increase the shield banks to above normal and make them fire longer, or give them some innate bonus. I personally like the idea of LC drones, but i could not think of any high tech mining drones that people could agree with. Maybe make a new mining weapon? Radiation could be something like that bule weapon that is a projectile... t18 perhaps?
Basils are definitely OP. My SD nearly dies in a DG with 8 MF basils due to the range of their lasers. he is level 1.8k...

i'd say something about that but i dont want to lessen my chance of getting a BST item form for my alt from you.

Yeah 1 MF basil is pretty easy, but we're talking about them in DGs and in a huge group, your DM would get fucked if 3+ of those MF basil started firing their basil bacteria gun at him, the basil bacteria builds up way too fast. My lvl 800 DM in a pax astro had 20 energy vollies and they all got blown up by 4 Mf basils in under 1 min.

Re: Where are we (the devs) dropping the ball?
I don't understand why everyone says Basils are overpowered... I've never had a problem with them since I came back to SS, and when I came back to SS I was obsolete compared to the other people out there today. They have long range and a large shield bank but that is all that I can see.

Re: Where are we (the devs) dropping the ball?
cause they lack spines and are lame pussies who like to complain just because somehting was made more difficult. these are problay also the people who say they want more pvp but complain when they acctualy get hit.
