As soon as the big Earthforce Cruiser entered Infernal Tempest, the skies lit up with fire. The defenders started up their mammoth jade ion laser orbital platforms on the intruder. Inferno+’s and Goblins raced out of their hangars to meet their enemies near the To-She Gate. There was a one thousand space unit bubble around the Earthforce fleet.
This was no normal Earthforce squadron; this was a Fleet Commander they were against. It was just him and his slaves. The Infernals thought it would be another easy defense of their ideas and homes, but they were wrong. As the cruiser turned ninety degrees to port, three destroyers spiked with medium cannons and flak cannons turned with the capital ship. Even worse, eleven paximinus were personally escorting their master.
Nevertheless, the Infernals still threw themselves upon the fleet before them. The Infernals were armed to the teeth with their Condemned weaponry built by the Doktor himself. Their pilots were the best of the best. They were ready.
Or so they thought…
As soon as any Infernal got within the fleet’s range, flak and shells lit the up skies and the lasers painted the heavens. Then, the Infernals split. Not knowing why, the Fleet Commander huddled his slaves together with his ship. Then all became clear. The Infernals were retreating to the safety of their Doomed Vanguard and Doom Guard escorts.
The Fleet Commander fired up his defense cannons and armed his core weapon systems. The Infernals prepared for their last stand. The Infernals opened fire at three thousand space units. The Earthforce fleet just kept on moving towards the Infernals and at point blank, opened up on the Infernals.
Using their medium cannons, the Fleet Commander’s destroyers pounded the Infernal capital ships’ hulls. Unrelenting. Unstoppable. Unbreakable.
The Infernals fought back with their condemned capital laser cores. Their weapons did some damage, but the Fleet Commander gave the order to tweak and his slaves’ shields shot back up to seventy-five percent. The Fleet Commander gave the fighter launch command. Thirty-two bulldog fighters roared out of their capital fighter bays and on towards to the targets. The Infernals fired off their own fighters to combat the Bulldogs. Waves of fighters clashed between the two fleets. The Bulldogs from Destroyer A climbed and then dived to start their strafing run on the Doomed Vanguard while the Bulldogs from Destroyer C covered them.
The Bulldogs on their run targeted the Vanguard’s engines and energy banks. Ethereal laser III fire smashed the critical systems to bits. The Doom Guards powered up their anti-fighter laser batteries. The Fleet Commander saw this from his chair and gave the command to take out those lasers. Destroyer B complied when its fighters strafed the Doom Guards.
The Infernals gave the full retreat order and their fleet attempted to limp back to base. The Fleet Commander told his slaves to engage tractors to hold the Infernal Fleet so his personal Paximinus could quickly destroy them. One by one, the Doom Guards were killed and cracked open as they fell towards The Inferno. Only the Doomed Vanguard and one Doom Guard managed to reach their bases.
“So far so good,” the Fleet Commander said to himself…

The Tainted class Behemoth was a marvel to behold. The shipmakers at Beta Antares worked hard to turn the basic design into a combat worthy capital ready to lead the fleet to the heart of the UrQa Universe.

They reworked some the vast hull into Impact Dampeners to protect the interior to all but Surgical and Radiation. The Blue Photon installed eight dual cannon artillery turrets to each side of the Tainted class. The artillery was a masterpiece of weaponry engineering. By switching out the ammunition, one could be adapted for many types of situations without the needing to sacrifice weapon slots. In addition, the artillery pieces had an effective range of three thousand meters, to partially fight off pesky UrQa Interceptors.

The Blue Photon added a corrosive mixture to the engine fuel line, causing the backwash of the powerful Ionized Fusion Thruster to do active damage to all enemies trying to sit behind the ship to attack the “supposed” weak spot. Finally, they equipped a special mining heavy cannon to the front of the ship to bombard enemy positions during assaults.\

Due to the process that the Blue Photon uses in shipmaking, the Tainted class had a +50% Bonus to range and +300% bonus to Radar.

When it was unveiled to the Sky Marshals of Earthforce, the generals were impressed. Capable of keeping up with their Dreadnought, but with far greater ability to knock Sniper and Interceptor ships out of the sky; it was thought of to be a fine ship indeed. However, the only thing that was not greeted with enthusiasm was its cost. With a price tag of nearly eight billion, this was far more expensive than the Earthforce Dreadnought’s three billion credit cost. But it was put into mass production nonetheless.

Units off the production line were fitted with a Capital Armageddon Laser and two wings of Border Collie Fighters. Even though that was some serious firepower, Captains were instructed to make use of the heavy cannon to smash aside any enemy capitals.

The ships were placed on the front lines as soon as possible. There, they allowed the P/EF/L to score victories at the Battles of Penado and Urgiqa Bana against the UrQa and the annihilation of the Bonnet Pirates’ new Station in Scary Ananda.

Wow. A necro of 1 year, 3 days. That has to be some kind of record.

(Behemoth - Tainted)

"Sir! We've spotted an anomaly on our radar," shouted a private to Ship Commander Mark

"Run some tests - it's probably a zebucart or something. It would never hurt us!" replied Mark.

The private ran off back to his station. When he got back he got onto the computer dedicated to radars, and gave it the command to analyze the anomaly. It started beeping and then started saying, in a monotonous voice while it printed on the screen, "Scanning.... Scanning... Scanning...
Scanned:
Type: Ship
Class: Organic
Alignment: Hostile
Level: 10000
Main Weapon: Poisoned Peashooter
Name: Rabid Space Rat
Distance: 3541
...
Distance: 3155
...
Distance: 2613"

The private stared at the screen. This looked dangerous. Their behemoth was not unarmed - it had some powerful lasers - but it wasn't equipped to fight. He knew he didn't have much time left. He started a mad dash to the pilot's chamber - he knew there wouldn't be much time before the attack.

He sprinted through the well lit halls - past the steel doors leading to other aspects. He was near the pilot's chamber when, suddenly, the ship started shaking violently, and red lights started blaring. His brain had barely registered what had happened when it all went black. The lights in the ship went black, but a periphery of green lights turned on. Their ship was tainted, and the rat ran off.

The ship slowly drifted through galaxy, for weeks, until someone inside stirred. He could not remember who he was, why he was there, or what had happened. He decided, if he was ever asked, he should call himself "Captain Dan" Slowly, he dragged himself to his feet, and went in search of food. Every so often, he saw a corpse of what might have been his crew before. Eventually, he found a door leading into the cargo bay. He went in and saw a giant room with crates of various commodities stacked high. He found a few rations, and some fine space whiskey. He ate some rations, drank some whiskey, and decided to explore his surroundings. Soon, he found the pilot's room. He entered, and tried radioing Earthforce for help. He didn't get a response.

He had some experience piloting ships. He'd never been behind the wheel of something like THIS though. This was a technologically advanced freighter - not a wingship. He thought, How different can they be?. He hopped into the pilot's seat and tentatively started it. The engines didn't turn on. He decided to try the auto-pilot system. He punched in a bunch of coordinates on a screen, and nothing happened. The computers were broken. He was dead in space. Then, suddenly, the pilot's hand twitched. The pilot slowly started getting up. He pushed "Captain Dan" out of the pilot's seat, and dragged him to the radar section. He, without speaking, left, and got into the pilot's seat, and wandered space. One by one, the rest of the crew came around. They went to their appropriate station. No talking. They had no needs. They worked tirelessly. They piloted their tainted ship like clockwork. They became an effective killing machine - they were hunted by experienced fighters, and all, everyone failed. They had only 1 ambition. To get revenge. To kill the Rabid Space Rat.

I love reading the little stories people write in here. However in January of 2009, my Design Firm lost both it's contracts with EA and Stardock, so the firm itself was shut down. 'Team Horizon' is there for no longer in existence... Please though, don't this this stop you from posting.

I had put this thread's link on another thread recently just to point out that we have been trying to Roleplay and write stories for a long time. I even got Voomy to make a Roleplaying Forum on the Fora which was soon after removed.

Once upon a time, there was a Zebu Design in my pants. One day I decided to take Extenze and it grew massively into a behemoth.

THE END

Actually, Sicuro prodded me to do it when he made the link to the subject.

And...if he made a new thread, someone(most likely Jeff_L's will make you) transfer ALL stories over.

Now how does a necro sound?
